“Great outdoor location...”
Reviewed June 8, 2014

We wanted to try out HNY overlooking the water for dinner. We were kindly welcomed and asked to wait for 20 min. We enjoyed a drink and 1/2 hour later, we sat at our table. Only after 1 hour or so, we requested to be helped. We counted around 10 wait staff and were surprised that we couldn't get a menu or let alone get their attention. The food was rather small sized for the prices one pays. I did expect a bit more. Overall, I would recommend you go there to have an evening drink then move on for dinner.

Reviewed May 31, 2014

I have been many times to the restaurant and i can say i have tried at least half of the menu. and i really liked everything. Tuna and Fillet are great, Bitterballen are a must.
Dessert are really generous so leave a bit of space for them...

Wonderful place that enlightens your mind. The bar and restaurant is suitable for such mind trips and very good choice of food and drinks. It gets very busy.

“Uninspired cooking but great ambience”
Reviewed May 28, 2014

Nothing is ever all bad and that certainly goes for this popular restaurant in the middle of the Rotterdam harbours and near the city center. A slightly would-be must with crowds of business people noisily being seen, nevertheless the atmosphere is good and service is prompt and friendly enough. In a hurry and on my own, my single course dinner of Quinoa-stuffed red pepper was served before the mint tea and really, quinoa is so easy to pimp and all the chef here did was add peas, corn and grenadilla seeds? With a dressingless salad? The chef doesn't love his job and hates foodies, that was very obvious...

“summer lunch in Rotterdam”
Reviewed May 27, 2014

Is it a sunny day in Rotterdam? Take tram 7 to Willemsplein, walk around Veerhaven, and take the small ferry to Hotel New York. Enjoy the terraces with view over the river, and the good (sea)food.
Walk back over Erasmus bridge ("after dinner, walk a mile").
