“good historical perspective of photography”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 16, 2013

I'm not a photography buff., but for anyone who is this is the place for them. An interesting special exhibition, backed by local exhibits. The best was the dark room, where you can take a card like a photographic plate and use it to view various exhibits of the history & development of photography in the Netherlands. If you are peckish it is next door to the Hotel New York, and has great views nearby of the harbour.

“Not a lot to see.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 29, 2013

I found this venue difficult to find and disappointing. Perhaps if you are studying the technical aspects of art or photography then you would find this interesting, but I found the subject matter very niche.

“Check out the basement”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2013

There are many photography museums in the world and admittedly, parts of the show are not the greatest. But the real treasure is the basement - darkroom - where in a "real" darkroom one can discover the historic journey of photography... from the first photo to today.

“Wonderful photo museum with a variety of permanent and varying exhibits.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 5, 2013

This museum features many prominent Dutch photographers as well as other famous photographers. There are three floors of space. While not always liking everything, there are always multiple exhibits which I do like.

If you are a photographer, this museum can be your muse to improve your art. Enjoy !

“A must if you like photography”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 24, 2013

With elements and small stories of the Dutch history of photography, this museum is an absolute must for everybody who have a slight (or more) interest in photography. Multimedial exhibition in the "Dark Room" where you get to know a bit about the history of photography as well as Dutch photographers throughought the years. A great museum to visit and a nice book shop too!
