The Wilhelminapier is where Rotterdam's claim to be 'Manhattan on the Maas' gets the most credibility. Located right next to the Erasmus bridge, here you will find the 4 tallest buildings in the Netherlands. The area consists of modern architecture and former warehouse that have been redeveloped into restaurants or museums. Architecture fans can find designs by world famous architects such as Norman Foster, Renzo Piano, Alvaro Siza and ofcourse local Rem Koolhaas. There is plenty to do here. The pier is home to a theater, the national museum of photography, an arthouse cinema, restaurants and a few hotels. During the summer months, the cruise terminal welcomes cruise ships on a weekly basis, which makes for even better views.
