Wow, exciting, a beautiful place, a pleasant walk along this channel, without a doubt one of the most beautiful areas of the city.
Walking up and down the canal one has the impression of walking in the history of this wonderful city.
Along this avenue, plenty of pubs, restaurants and shops. Unforgettable adventure.

A brief stop-over for a snack in Delfshaven gave rise to some serious ethnic shopping. For a small town, I was delighted to find items such as Portuguese Goiabada in a local shop and also at a reasonable price. There was a plethora of such stores here and the supermarket was also full of a great selection of items.

Delftshaven is easily accessible by tram & metro. It is a pleasant quiet harbour, a scenic pleasant oasis away from the concrete and glass of central Rotterdam. There are some excellent bars, cafes and art shops on the waterfront. My favourite watering hole is De Pelgrim brew pub. Its beer are excellent and the food is good.

It is only a small stretch of 17th century historic Rotterdam. Nicely contrasting the busy and multicultural neighbourhood lying next to it. Nice for eating a dish, having a beer or enjoying nice italian icecream.
