As the other reviews state, Hotel Emma is wonderfully located in central Rotterdam. It is an easy walk from the train station, as well to the other touristy things to do in Rotterdam. It is also a great location for arrival or departing on a cruise ship. Very easy walk to the port (that is, if you're a walker) Tram stops right in front of the hotel, if you are not a walker, which could also take you to the port.
We were a family of four traveling together. We are a couple in our 60's along with our married daughter and her husband. I had booked for us, the family room, which consisted of two rooms attached, and a single bathroom, located in the first of the rooms, that you entered from the hallway. The second room, was attached and has a corner location, surrounded by windows on two sides of the room. It was a nice room with a full size sink in it. They had to walk into and through our room to use the bathroom, but we didn't think this was a big deal. Each room had it's own supplies. The rooftop terrace is cool an has great views of the streets below and the roof tops of Rotterdam. The breakfast was wonderful too. Fresh breads and rolls. Lunch meats, cheeses, and cereals. The hotel was clean.
The only complaint that I have was the noise...As the other reviews state, Hotel Emma is wonderfully located in central Rotterdam. The only complaint that I have was the noise that came from the two night clubs located across the street from Hotel Emma. I can't blame the hotel for the occasional screaming that would come from a drunk girl or guy, which would wake us up. The noise could sometimes be quite loud. I suggest ear plugs. Besides that, Hotel Emma is a lovely, clean hotel, with a great location and atmosphere surrounding it both day and night. (well night not so lovely) And this would be more of a summer issue with the noise than in winter, I would think.More
