Hampshire Hotel - Savoy Rotterdam
Ranked #15 of 52 Hotels in Rotterdam
Reviewed July 9, 2012

We stayed here in March 2011 for 2 nights. Travelling on a budget, the Eden Savoy had one of the largest rooms at similar rates. The service at the hotel was great, the room very comfortable & the location is unbeatable.
I especially loved the lift!

Tiny bathroom, phone broken and they didn't fix it during my 4 days there. It would be better if they were committed with the ckient.

Not a particualrly good hotel. Room is a reasonable size but the bathroom is tiny. There is not a lot of room between the toilet and the shower so things are a bit tight. My room was not cleaned very well: dirty shower, bits of paper on the chairs, suspicious stains on the furntiture and a dirty carpet.
I ha d poor night's sleep due to a fan whining away all night somewhere.
Breakfast is 17 euros and does nto justify the cost

This hotel is ok, if you stay for just one night. We spent one night in June. The location is very central, close to Blaak station. We arrived at noon and could already enter the room. The room was not spacious, but big enough. The double bed was rather small (1.40 mtr wide) and a bit saggy in the middle. The duvet was too warm for June. The carpet needs to be renewed, because there are a lot of stains in it. One lamp didn't work.We didn't try the airco, and slept with open window. We ignored the noise from people outside shouting in the street in the beginning of the night. The bathroom was small. At the wall there are dispensers with Rituals hair/body soap and handwash. The breakfast buffet included: yoghurt, soft curd cheese, choice of cereals, fruit salad, two kinds of fruit juice, coffee or tea from a machine (cappucino with too much milk), choice of bread and rolls, cheese, meat, jams and other sweets. The room had facilities for making coffee and tea.

We spent two nights there in June and were very pleased overall. Fantastic staff, an amazing variety of foods for breakfast in an elegant room, a great hotel room with all the conveniences you would expect. The only thing that was a bit annoying was how unstable the free wifi was, and we're a bit fussy about our beds and this one was too firm. Overall, a great experience though.

Room Tip: The location itself is quiet so all rooms are likely just fine.

Looked to be a shadey place when you enter into the room. Just the basics are there in the room and ooks very old and old-fashioned. Bathroom was also not up to the mark. Breakfast was basic.

Room Tip: Dont take a room on the first floor

The location is central, with metro and tram lines near. Service is friendly and rooms clean. However, the hotel needs invesment. Nothing terrible, but poor food, and fixtures would all benefit from updating.
