“Go for the experience”

Staying at a Cruise ship has something magical to it. Well, a stay at the Cruise hotel Rotterdam is certainly a great experience.
After checking in, the walk to your room, using the big stairs and the small hallways starts off the experience in a special way.
The rooms are the double size of the original cabins, which is big enough. Rooms have their own "theme" which is nice if you should go there more than once. Beds are good and bathroom has everything you need.
I visited the Oyster bar when there was live music playing - it was maybe a bit loud, but still OK.

We combined business+ mini holiday and we were so pleased by our choise. Close to the city centre, very clean, excellent decoration, very well maintained. Food was a bit expensive though. The kids loved the whole idea!

You want to go back in the real old times but with all the convenience and luxury of today?
Steam Ship Rotterdam has it all for you. For your (business/private) event, for an (exclusive) dinner or afternoon tea...
Close to the city center of Rotterdam where you can shop till you drop. Close to water taxi Rotterdam which allows you to speed over Rotterdams waters. Close by Herman den Blijkers (Hollands famous cook) restaurant 'Las Palmas'. Nearby Hollands Football Stadium of Feyenoord... Cruise Hotel should be in your trip when you plan a full weekend in Rotterdam.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms facing the water side not the city side.

This magnificent restored old cruise ship hosts a very good hotel (spaciuos rooms, excellent beds and sufficient shower facilities, all in perfect style of the fifties! Good breakfast and dining facilities make it a good choice to stay when sleeping in Rotterdam.
Parking facilities are great as is taxi, tuk tuk or shuttle transport.
We also did a tour, we spent two hours seeing all the beauty of this ship.
and all for decent prices........

We stayed two nights at the SS Rotterdam in late June 2012. Our room (Superior) was very nice, comfortable and spacious. The staff was friendly and all staff we encountered spoke very good English.

Pros: Comfortable, spacious and quiet rooms; a unique experience for those who have never been aboard a 1930/1940 era trans-oceanic liner; the room was very reasonably priced.

Cons: The hotel may be difficult to get to for those not familiar with Rotterdam (From the main train station take the tram to Rijnhaven, then bus 77 to the hotel). The hotel is also quite isolated for someone who wishes to do a lot of sightseeing. The easiest way to get to most of the main attractions is by water taxi at a cost of 9 to 11 euros per person. The cost of meals, drinks, etc can be expensive...example, the breakfast buffet, which is quite good, is 11 euros per person.

We enjoyed our stay, but would probably not stay there again.

Stayed on the SS Rotterdam for one night, to get the ''SS Rotterdam'' experience.
Lived in Rotterdam for nearly 20 years, so I wasn't there to know the place any better, but to try and feel what this liner had to offer during it's life as a liner and cruise ship.
We had a nice and comfortable cabin, good beds and all comforts you could wish for.
Lovely breakfast, an interesting tour aroud the ship. Short boat-ride to the city-centre if you'd wanted. A brilliant experience........
Wish I would have sailed this beautiful lady in her transatlantic years. I now even more don't understand why people ''enjoy'' cuising around the Med on a block of flats with 3500/4000 other guests....but thats new age promblems...Anyway, a good way to spend a weekend in Rotterdam.
People complaining about the location of the ship in connection to the citycentre, should stay at home or try ''new'' things like : the bus, underground, watertaxi (leaving next to the ship). And dear (mostly Dutch) travelers, the SS Rotterdam is a ship, not a boat (boot) !!!

Very bad experience. Seems like you are in the Shining movie with basically 400 rooms but only 10 books, making scary empty spaces and desert corridor. And it is very far from center so you need a taxi wherever you want to go.
Service is poor. Breakfast was supposed to be included, they even give you breakfast ticket when you check in. But then you realize it was not included, and they charged twice my colleague on this before she realized. To be avoided. Definitely
