I have been at Loos several times, trying both the inside-upper area restaurant that offers more exclusive food options, and the normal bistro. In all cases, food has been rather disappointing and overpriced. The last example was their currently offered antipasti salad, which consisted of not more than a couple of salad leaves, 4 olives, 4 small pieces of salami and mortadela, and 2 glazed onions. For a price of 12.95, I was honestly shocked. My boyfriend's risotto was terribly overcooked and full of lumps. On a previous occassion, I was served probably the most dry piece of chicken breast ever, which I had to send back to the kitchen. On a positive note, the location is beuatiful, and they do have very nice desserts and a very good wine list.

“Delicious Food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 25, 2013

I went here on recommendation from Hostel ROOM and it was very good. Despite being packed, I was waited on promptly and received my order just as fast. The food was excellent! Wish it were slightly cheaper, but definitely worth it and compared to other areas restaurants, it is actually priced quite nicely.

“Great bistro food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 21, 2013

As my family was staying at the nearby maritime hotel, we had lunch at Loos on Saturday 20th of april as most restaurants were closed for lunch. The décor is quite dated but full of charm, reminds me of some Viennese or Parisian cafes. The food and service were excellent, the menu is quite extensive and everything looked tasty. I had the steak tartare which was very fresh and beautifully presented - served with chips and side salad. I would love to go back for breakfast or coffee and cake when the weather is nice as they also have outdoor sitting.

Good for an evening meal or lunch or just a snack or drink. Dining room expensive, but the bar food is fine. Nice people.

“Grande Cafe”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 25, 2013

I like old fashioned cafe restaurants and this is a good one. Housed in a beautiful Amsterdam School of architecture building, it has a slightly complicated multi format lunch menu (fixed price, specials, a la carte) which I ignored and freestyled across all that was offered. Great fish, friendly well executed service and not too expensive given the surroundings. Very popular and deservedly so.
