Description: WE WILL GO BACK AGAIN! This was an amazing restaurant that we just happened upon while driving the maze of streets in central Leiden. On whim we said, let's go eat at the Olive Garden (those who live in the States will understand). Little did we know what a treat we would enjoy. To hear the sounds of satisfaction come out of my 16-year old nephews mouth really says how good this reataurant truly is. It's a must and worth driving too from Amsterdam or the Hague.

“Nice decor”

Lovely decor in a modern building. Some really interesting pasta dishes - the ravioli in lemon and rosemary was wonderful. Good wine list. Starters a bit dull though.

“Great food, ambience, slow service”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 20, 2013

Ate in the olive Garden with several work colleagues.
I arrived a bit early and was made welcome with a glass of wine and some bread and olives.
We had starters to share - bruschettas and antipasta.
These were all freshly prepared and all different.
The starters were quite filling, which was just as well as there was a long gap until the mains arrived. I guess this is a Dutch tradition, but my preference would have been to be served sooner.
I had fish, my colleagues had steaks. Both were excellent, and served with plates of spaghetti.
The location is interesting as it looks out onto a small piazza, just behind the main shopping street, with some ornamental walls and columns marking where a church once stood.

“Good Italian food with matching service...”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 1, 2013 via mobile

It is a popular and not to big restaurant just behind the shopping street. The food is real Italian; fresh tasting simple dishes that are nice to share! We had the menu that is really affordable and offers some platters of starters to share.

Service is "no-nonsense" and good, but also a bit chaotic and some times. It adds a little to the Italian atmosphere, but you don't want to be in a hurry...

Nice place to have some good Italian food at a fair price!

“Typical Italian with great choice of wines”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 13, 2012

I've visted this restaurant many times and the serve every time the same (excellent) quality. You van choose a menu (fish or meat) for 35 euros which is great value for money (normally I never do menu's; this restaurant is the only exception). Their winelist is great (the owner also has a wine store in Leiden: Italvin). They have a great garlic pasta but also the other items on their menu are very good. The service is excellent. The only thing they should abandon is to charge for the appetizers; that doesn't fits in this restaurant,

“Nice italian restaurant: tasty food and friendly service”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 6, 2012 via mobile

A nice Italian restaurant in the centre of Leiden, serving a great variety of fresh pasta's and tasty main courses at -overall- fairly moderate prices. No pizza's but there are enough alternatives! Friendly and efficient staff.
