Had a opportunity to stop in the little town of Salmo, BC (found in the Kootenays) and enjoy breakfast at the Dragonfly Café. Quaint little restaurant, Kicking horse coffee, and had a greate Chai tea latte to start us off! Servers were happy and helpful and the meal was plentiful and served hot! We enjoyed their outside patio as the weather that day was 39 degrees and we were in the shade. Would recommend a stop in for a coffee or sandwich on your way through the Kootenays!

Stopped here for lunch on a recommendation from some local folks after bicycling from Metaline Falls. By the amount of traffic it was attracting, I knew we came to the right place. We were enthusiastically greeted by the counter person & informed to place our order before sitting down. We both had grilled panini sandwiches with a salad of greens on the side, iced Americanos, & a small dessert. Everything was fresh & seemed home made. I was surprised to be charged $4 for a side salad of greens with my sandwich so I only chose 4 stars for value. Otherwise, I highly recommend this hip cafe which also provides free wifi to customers.

Stopped in at this little place on a whim with 4 friends around noon on a Saturday. We ordered grilled panini sandwiches & had our order in about 10 mins. The sandwiches were better than any sandwich I have had in Vancouver. Best if all, they had vegan options & kicking horse, kickass coffee! Wow!
Big thumbs up to this little kootenay gem!

Great cheesecake - hot coffee - friendly staff and lots of local colour - what a great way to pass away a rainy afternoon on the road between Creston and Nelson

We found the Dragonfly several years ago one snowy day when we needed a coffee break after a grueling drive over the Salmo Creston Highway. Since then we make a point of stopping there several times a year when we are travelling Hwy 3 to visit our family. Every server we've had at the Dragonfly has been friendly and a hard worker. We are greeted when we walk in and served in a personable but effecient manner. We particularly like to have the farmer sausage breakfast which comes with a generous link of farmer sausage, two eggs, toast and hash browns. This breakfast eaten in the late morning lasts us for most of the day on our long drive back to the Fraser Valley. We like the homey atmosphere at the Dragonfly and the interesting nature photography that graces two of its walls. Besides the good service and food, the prices are reasonable.
