“Long business stay”
Reviewed March 6, 2014

I spent two weeks in Hotel Leeuwenbrug during my business trip to Delft in February. Since it was not a tourist season, and my stay was so long, the hotel upgraded for free the reserved “Luxury Twin Room” to an apartment (thank you, Leeuwenbrug). So I would not say anything about price/quality ratio; however, $130 per night for “Luxury Twin Room” that I initially reserved seems reasonable.
1) Location is excellent. 5 minutes walk to Delft center with its churches, restaurants, shops. 7 minutes walk to Delft Centraal Railway station, which I used every day to go to work.
2) The apartment is in 3 levels: entrance, kitchen and living room with outdoor terrace (small restroom on this level) and bedroom (separate bathroom and shower rooms). I almost did not use the huge living room (did not have time); spent all time at home in the large kitchen. As for the bedroom: BEWARE: there are very low wooden ceiling construction elements. Everybody taller than 176 cm would definitely struck his head. I did it a couple of times. Yes it is dangerous, and administration should warn the guests.
The apartment has laundry machine, which was handy for such long stay. Has refrigerator and some other kitchen devices. Just ask reception for English instructions because the manuals kept there are in Dutch.
Water flow in shower was pretty weak.
3) Breakfast is modest. This is common for small hotels that do not have their restaurants.
4) Stuff was friendly. A couple of times I complained about some plumbing problems, and the problems were fixed the same day.
Overall impression: good (since I was upgraded), but larger hotels with better breakfast and better plumbing would probably be better. But good location was my concern.

Room Tip: Apartment is very good, but beware of wooden ceiling construction elements. Anybody taller than 176...

The position, just by a tree-lined canal, only a couple of hundred yards from the centre of the old town, is excellent. Another plus is that there's a computer for the use of guests. Otherwise, the young staff are efficient in a hotel-school-graduate sort of way, the rooms are quite comfortable and breakfast (the usual buffet sort of thing) is OK. There are various good restaurants nearby.

The location is very good and the reception is very cute. It's a very short walk from the train station. Other than that, the room are pretty ordinary- reasonably large and comfortable. I was woken occasionally by church bells, so maybe bring some earplugs.

I asked at the front desk for an extra blanket my second night and was told that it wasn't possible to get one in the evening, because housekeeping was gone for the day. They were nice about it, but I found this sort of bizarre- maybe the only hotel I've ever stayed in that doesn't keep extra blankets in the rooms (also weirdly, there was an ironing board but no iron). The night I arrived was also very cold, because I got there late and it took some time for the room to heat up.

Breakfast is a good spread, including pancakes and all sorts of savory items.

Great staff-- friendly and helpful. Rooms could use sprucing up. The beds and furniture appeared to be from hospital refurb project but that was ok. Coffee kettle in room with fruit and treats always in lobby. Nice breakfast. Easy walk to sights.
Nice break from hustle of big cities.

We spent four nights at the Leeuwenbrug earlier this month and found the accommodations to be nearly perfect. The hotel is in a 300-year old building on one of the main canals in Delft, right at the Lion Bridge from which the hotel takes its name. We were fortunate to be assigned room 9, a large room at the front of the hotel, which looks right out at the canal, bridge, and houses across the canal. Because Delft is relatively quiet, especially after coming from Amsterdam, we were able to sleep well even with a window open.

Delft is a lovely, historic canal city, and everything you might want to see in town is within close walking distance (except the overrated Delftware factory.) There are plenty of nearby dining options; we went twice to Les Copains, which features half lobster done a choice of four ways for €21.50. Breakfast consists of the usual range of offerings. Parking is in a nearby outdoor lot and costs €14.50 at the meter for the day and overnight.

We cannot attest to the quality of the other rooms at the hotel, but a couple we met who frequently come to Delft told us that the Leeuwenbrug was the best hotel in town in its class. Certainly, it was one of the most enjoyable places we have stayed so far on our trip and perhaps the least expensive to boot.

Hotels like this one should be encouraged. Leeuwenbrug is a clean, well furnished hotel in an interesting area of a beautiful town. My room was inexpensive but quite large. The hotel is decorated in a 'new with old' style which is both pleasing and functional. I had a good breakfast of various cold items. Mr bed was comfy and the bathroom spotless. Only three gripes. 1. Breakfast room a little small. 2. View from my window somewhat bleak. 3. Nearby parking was expensive. Next time I will arrive by train and just put up with gripes 1. and 2. I liked both Leeuwenbrug and Delft and the Dutch.

Room Tip: Ask for a canal view. There may be a little noise but Delft is not London.

Stayed here for two nights whilst discovering Holland. Excellent hotel, very close to the centre and ideal for seeing the attractive town of Delft. The townsfolk of Delft are very friendly and helpful. We were also lucky to be here on a Thursday which is market day.
