“A mainstay of the Dutch craft beer scene”
Reviewed October 20, 2013

As a born and bred 'Delftenaar' living abroad, 't Klooster is always my first pick when I'm back in town to see family and friends. An absolute gem with a stunning beer selection and helpful and friendly bar staff.

The price correlates with the effort they have to take getting the brand. The more obscure the beer, the more you pay. Especially the American beers can get quite expensive, but hey, we're not in America, are we?

Summers are best at 't Klooster when you can grab a chair and have beers at the canal. The interior is authentic and lovely and while the seating area is quite small, nowadays you're also allowed to drink in the restaurant next door, which has a similar atmosphere. I've had nights where we closed out the place at around 4am, which is such a welcome change from the London 11-12pm pub closing times (ugh...).

Furthermore, it's at close proximity to the city centre, so really, if you happen to find yourself in Delft, and haven't been to 't Klooster yet, you better do something about it, since you're missing out.

“Lovely place, delightful situation”
Reviewed May 28, 2013

We were actually a bit nonplussed by it. we didn't realise that the Dutch like their beer so strong. Also it's not cheap. But as a tourist trap it has a canal, a lovely little street, and it's close to the town centre. It's very small and I am sure get's very crowded. Also you are liable to get hit by the door if you sit in the wrong place.

“Beer heaven”
Reviewed May 10, 2013

After trying a number of pubs in Delft I stumbled across this gem. They have the widest selection of beers I have ever come across, apart from one pub in Montreal. Heavily focusing on Belgian beers the friendly gentleman (who speaks excellent English) will recommend which ones to try. They have so many unusual ones that are not normally stocked elsewhere it is difficult to choose. This appears to be a local pub frequented by Dutch locals; however, it also seems to attract a range of international visitors staying at the local hotel. I haven't eaten here yet but I can thoroughly recommend it as a place to imbibe a good beer. It’s not far from the main square and is well worth the effort of seeking it out. For those who like dark beers, make sure you try the Delirium Nocturnum

“Great Pit Stop”
Reviewed November 14, 2012

Very traditional, cosy bar with wide selection of beers and local drinks especially Jenever - well worth a try. Friendly service and good cross section of clientele. Handy for the Market Square, the Vermeer Centre, and not far from many of the Delft attractions. Located just by a canal.

“Friendly little beer cafe”

Excellent selection of beers (worldwide, but mostly Belgian); friendly knowledgeable staff, good basic food. Cosy atmosphere. Very close to the New Church.
