The venue is great, the view upstairs from the windows hard to beat anywhere else in pittoresque Veered, and still you feel this place has lost it's mojo the past couple of years. This time, I booked the high tea with a couple of friends. We weren't greeted with great enthusiasm and it took a while before we were offered tea. Cans with hot water arrived and each of us could pick one tea-bag from a big tea-box, which was taken away immediately after. It only returned to the table when asking for it and the hot water was not refilled throughout our whole session. A bit weird as it is all about tea. Highly recommend to refill the cans and leave a small box of different tea-bags at the table. The food was okay-ish, nothing special, although the cream for the scones and the thick salmon of the sandwiches stood out. The service was slow and although it was clear that the majority of the group were English, we kept being addressed in Dutch. Price/quality is off, but with a slightly friendlier services, this would be minor. Adding everything up, I must conclude there are probably better places to go. a shame, as the venue does have potential for the many guests who visit Veere every year.
