What's nice about the Botanical Gardens is the way it's laid out. Its really a garden you can wander about, with all different themes and routes to stroll along. In the centre of the park is a 19th century (?) semi-underground fort (not open for visitors) making for a hill that you can climb. The hill is surrounded by water and the park. My likes are the greenhouse (with running birds!), the bamboo-park and the rock-plant-hill. As these gardens are University-run, lots of educational information is provided for the plants. Beautiful and worth a visit. The bus takes about 15 minutes from the centre.
