We stayed in Amersfoort for three nights in April. We booked this place over the internet and wasn't sure what to expect. We checked in at a little cafe on a square and I was a little concerned about our accomodations. No worries. The very nice bar attendant showed us to a lovely hotel on the market square. This place was spotlessly clean, new and bright. We had a double room ( with twin beds....but it was still OK). The town is lovely and rates are very reasonable..we paid 65 euros per night. The beds have nice thick down duvets and sheets are crisp and clean. There was a flat screen tv on the wall. Very nice. We were very pleased with the place. The market square added to our experience in Amersfoort. Other hotels are outside of town but this one is located right next to the large tower inside the old walled city. It was a ten minute walk from the train station, and you always had the tower to guide you.
