I had a dinner in this place and the menu sounds good. Duck was nice and dessert as well.

Restaurant is in the town center.

“Great lunch and good service”
Reviewed October 29, 2012 via mobile

We visited the restaurant for a lunch.
I took the mustard soup (with ham) and my wife the automn soup, which were served with some bread. They were both very good: the mustard soup was very original and spicy. Afterwards we took the mama roux sandwich and the salmon salad. Both were very tasteful. The mama roux sandwich is a very large sandwich witch thin turkey slices, dutch cheese and crispy bacon. After the mustard soup, it was more then i could eat. We drunk a white beer which was the belgian blanche de namur, where we would have expected the wieckse witte. But as we are Belgian, no complaints abou that, while Belgian beer...
Very friendly service, no credit cards accepted.

My husband and I eat here often when in Amersfoort.
In the spring we come for the delicious white asperges w. ham or salmon. In the fall/winter there is a good assortment of meats..everything from steaks to fish and poultry. all served w. the usual sides of salad and jummy frites. You can get catsup instead of the frites sauce
The carpaccio starter is superb as is the mushroom salad in the fall.
Wine is available by the carafe, very acceptable choise,
There is a bar w. the rest. good for waiting and it is a great place for singles as there is a large reading table.
We usually spend around 75 euro for the two of us. (carafe,no desert)

“Best lunch in old Amersfoort”
Reviewed February 29, 2008

When we first moved into Amersfoort's medieval old town, a local recommended Mamma Roux's Eethuis for lunch. We have become regulars. The restaurant sits tucked in a corner of Amersfoort's main square, the Hof, on the first floor of a very old building with large windows. In the winter, you can toast by the fireplace while your eyes roam the uneven walls and exposed beams of decor that hasn't changed much in hundreds of years. And when the weather's mild, there are tables and chairs outside on the brickwork where you can enjoy the beautiful old buildings.

The cuisine is Dutch/nouvelle. Their cream of tomato, split-pea and mustard soups are outstanding and come with a basket of sliced minnie baguettes. The sandwiches are more generous than the usual, notoriously skimpy Dutch offerings and the salads with salmon, tuna, etc. are wonderful.

We go there for dinner, too. My husband says their ahi ahi (black on the outside, quivering on the inside) is the best he's had anywhere--and he's been everywhere! Inside or out, the service is friendly and efficient. Prices are moderate and a good value!
