Having no choice but to stay here, as our friends had already booked it, I was amazed to find the complete opposite of some of the previous reviews. The hotel was clean and the breakfast was fine. Also the staff on reception were not only very friendly and helpful, but also cracked jokes and laughed a lot. Some of the other reviewers must have caught them on a really bad day!

It seems the hotel never had an update since the early 80's. I wouldnt recommond it for any holliday goers. One night for business is ok i guess. It has a depressing atmosphere. The staff wasnt very welcoming and seemed uninteressted. The room was very overpriced for a hotel that hasnt seen any investments for 25 years. It is close to the city center though. Free wifi is good. The breakfast is reasonable.

Normally Campanille is for me a hotel, where I don't suspect to much, and then I am never disappointing. While en-route , you can suspect to find the hotel near the highway, you can have a good meal. and a breakfast. But his is will all what you normally will get. But you also don't pay for more.

This one is different, very friendly staff, rooms where remarkably clean, restaurant is good, and it is on walking distance to the city center.
Verry good price value ratio

Good location located on the inner ring opposite the old town which is surrounded by water.
Rooms are small but comfortable, large and well appointed bathroom . tea and coffe making facilities.
There is a free car park, but its limited in size and on a first come basis.
Staff are not particularly welcoming but helpful when asked.

Nothing liked being awakened at 8am by washers banging on your window. Then having the cleaning staff barge in on you in bed at 9am. Then having a repair man barge in at 9:15 "by mistake". Then having them yell at you for complaining. Do not stay here if you value privacy or want to get some sleep. Also the room was so dusty it triggered an allergy attack.

I was visiting just for 2 nights, to attend an event at the Ijsellhallen, which is conveniently located from the hotel (and which I had checked before booking online). While the rooms are small but comfortable ("budget hotel"), the staff at the front desk are particularly rude. The day shift is manned by a guy (Eric) and a lady (Inge). Both were rude and inefficient. While I was checking in, the lady told me that the price for 2 nights would be EUR 164. When I told her that according to my online booking, it should be EUR 147, she said No, it's 164. Even after showing her the online booking receipt (fortunately I had that printed out), she and her colleague continued to argue, until they finally understood that the rate for each night is different. But still, there was no sign of an apology or any sort of courtesy, when I told them that I shouldn't have had to point out the discrepancy to them - her reply was "well, it's ok now isn't it". There's another guy manning the desk in the early morning (didn't see a name-tag on his shirt), who was equally rude when I was checking out. This time he charged me for breakfast for 2 days (although I had not taken any), then when I pointed this out, he said ok, I will remove it - but his general tone was quite rude.

My opinion : If you just want a "budget hotel" to park your luggage during the day and sleep at night, this hotel is just ok. But please remember, the staff are also (apparently) "budget", and it could well be the thing that spoils your entire experience. (Someone mentioned in another review that their staff are outsourced from amother company, which partially explains their lack of interest and courtesy). The fact that I had booked via my company website (a reputatble multi-national company, I might add) did not influence the attitude or behaviour of the front-desk staff (which it shouldn't, anyway), so it seems that they are just not bothered about their reputation or future business. Why would you want to do business with such an organization?

One thing is for sure - they have lost one potentially regular customer forever. I am never using this hotel ever again. One thing is for sure - they have lost one potentially regular customer forever. I am never using this hotel ever again.

Although on my own I had a triple room which actually had 4 beds in it. Was large enough so this is ideal for a family stopping on their way through.
Equipment in hotel and room fine
Staff very friendly and helpful. My windscreen was splattered with flies and staff more than willing to lend me cleaning stuff to sort it out.
Barman very generous with the spirits too!
Great location just a short walk to the centre.
