This hotel was exceptionally clean. We had a nice room with a comfortable bed. The hotel staff was extremely helpful and all spoke English which was a plus for us. We arrived very early in the morning due to our flight but they had a room available and they were kind enough to let us check in early. We were able to rest after our flight. It has free internet service unlike many hotels. Walking distance to all. Lots of places to eat or whatever your pleasure. I love this hotel so much that it made it hard to leave it. I would highly recommed this hotel. Did I mention the staff was excellent?

We luckily had an easy drive to the hotel from the ferry and found the Q Park Hermitage right after the hotel. However, the next day the road was closed so it would have been very difficult to get to the parking. Firstly let me say the hotel is very nice and it was great to have parking so close. The train station is a few minutes walk, behind the building across the street, and frequent trains take you into Amsterdam in about 12 minutes for around 5 euros return. There is also a shopping street adjacent to the hotel with several coffee shops and a supermarket. At the end of the shopping street on the right are several restaurants so overall the hotel is well located. The room has air conditioning and has tea and coffee and BBC World. We ate in the restaurant one night and enjoyed the meal and the service. There is also a small pool and fitness centre which was nice. Now for the down side! The area is undergoing some major construction around the hotel including relaying of the roads. Now while this is great for the future, it is a little difficult to access the hotel. Also, the works go on long into the night and while we didn't find it too awful, we heard several guests complaining they couldn't sleep. The works also started relatively early in the morning so I can understand some people's frustration. I think the hotel should be offering some discounts during this time. Overall we would return to the hotel again but would probably try to negotiate a better price if the construction was still in progress.

The hotel is ideal if you are travelling with car to Amsterdam, as it is located in a town just outside Amsterdam and parking is included. The hotel is just next to the train station so you can quickly get to Amsterdam. There are a few restaurants and shops not too far from the hotel, but obviously the options are much better in Amsterdam. The hotel and our room were nice and clean. The breakfast was acceptable.

Do not be confused. the old golden Tulip in Zaandam is not in use anymore. this is the brand new hotel that has only been in use for 2 motnhs now. Brand new and very modern. Although you can take breakfast in the hotel there is a "Deli France" only 5 steps away at less then 1/2 the price. unlike what is mentioned on certain websites the parkign is not included and is an extra 15 euros a day. Very easy to get to the centre of Amsterdam by train in only 10 Mins. all in all a very pleasant experience.

We got bored and booked this hotel on a whim. Online we found a deal for the 'founders suite', which looked good on paper.
When we arrived, the hotel was locate in the middle of a building site. Although that's not their problem, it is a bit annoying. The reception desk staff was very helpful but clearly not in a correct routine yet. We got our room on the top floor of the hotel and when the elevator arrived on the top floor there was a sound as if a chopper was waiting on the roof. When we looked for our room, we had some problems because our room number wasn't there. So we tried our luck with an unmarked door and hurrah, it was ours

The room itself was nice, with a very clean bathroom with sauna and whirlpool. But the room was missing some features. The promised Nespresso machine wasn't there, no writing paper besides a small notepad, no Laundry service, no hotel directory and when we activated the airco in the evening only to find that it was giving some error messages and basically not working. By then i lost the will to complain and just opened some windows :)

The hotel is located very close to the train station from where you can reach Amsterdam central station in a quarter of an hour.
