Owner description: Keukenhof? That’s the place to see spring blossom. The park is unique, world famous, and has been one of the most popular destinations in the Netherlands for sixty years now. Haven’t seen Keukenhof? Then you haven’t seen the Netherlands. You won’t find such an abundance of colours and fragrances anywhere else. More than seven million flowers form a glorious decor for the most beautiful photos. Come to Keukenhof and enjoy the ultimate spring feeling, the wonderful works of art, the surprising insipration gardens and the many flower shows.

“Tulip Paradise”
Reviewed May 22, 2013

I saw the gardens in the end of April, so this year's long winter worked in my favor. The outdoor areas were mostly still in bloom or just starting, but the indoor blooms were all breathtaking. I am not an outdoor person, nor someone with a green thumb (quite the opposite) but I thoroughly enjoyed the park. Even with an old digital point-n-shoot camera, came away some really nice pix.
The park also has great areas for kids with a petting zoo, picnic areas, and a windmill you can go inside. You can definitely spend an entire day in there without being bored.
Transport from Amsterdam is very easy. I stayed near Centraal Station, so opted for the Combi-Ticket from Schiphol (one easy train ride away). You can even get the combi-ticket at the TI across from the train station (bought mine the day before), if you did not order it online.

“Paradise on Earth”
Reviewed May 22, 2013

This place must be seen at least once in the lifetime. Although a huge tourist attraction, it is so vast that one never feels overcrowded. It is the most beautiful garden, filled with millions of tulips arranged in the most spectacular ways. One feels almost overwhelmed by such beauty and there is so much to see, that be prepared to spend at least 3 hours, but preferably more! Truly a paradise on this earth!

“A wonderful display of spring flowers!”
Reviewed May 22, 2013 via mobile

A totally amazing experience viewing literally thousands (perhaps millions?) of tulips and several other varieties of flowers in many outside and inside displays. Although we have wonderful displays of tulips in Ottawa, Canada (thanks to the ongoing WWll gift from the Government of the Netherlands), these do not come close to the Keukenhoff! We are glad to have had the opportunity of visiting this unique venue!

“Paradise! A sanctuary of colour & peace.”
Reviewed May 21, 2013

We arrived in the 3rd week of April just as all the flowers were coming out after a long winter. What a brilliant day! The morning sunlight was streaming through the giant trees and across the fantasic array of coloured flower beds, green lawns and lakes.

Lots of people but luckily not the height of summer and even more.

It is a place of true beauty, tranquility, a huge park in which to lose oneself and behold the wonders of the world of such beautiful flowers and such well-tendered gardens.

Lots of walking but all disability-friendly pathways and child-friendly.

Affordable food outlets and well-priced large variety of souvenirs all in the one location.

This day would be the best highlight or perhaps a windmill village ... but it rates up there in terms of a "must see" when visiting Holland.

We drove from Amsterdam to Alkmaar then Lisse so it's very easy to find and not a long drive.

What made this beautiful garden so magical on this particular day was the light! Even in poor light you will be struck by the colour of the flowers. The photos do not lie. They actually are that bright!

Parking is well controlled with attendants. Amazing to see the volume of motor homes all parked in a row then a field full of cars. Disability parking is near the entrance and all very user-friendly, as was everything we came across in Holland.

“A once in a lifetime must see for the Netherlands”
Reviewed May 21, 2013

Amazing...to those of you who comment that you were disappointed, I tend to agree that people were NOT well informed about the affect that the weather was having on the the gardens. Even going April 23 it was quite evident that everything was not in bloom. However, I also agree with another contributor that despite all that it was hard to stop taking pictures and I have NEVER seen so many flowers. Loved the pavilions...and the smell. ahhhh!
I didn't go for a full day...only three hours, and found that was enough for me. However, if you are a gardener, or flower enthusiast, you may want to consider going for longer.
Just a hint: take picture first of tulip name with at least one bulb in pic to Identify, then take pic of the actual tulip...it will help you remember which ones you really liked.
