“Perfect.. Lovely food. Superb service!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 19, 2012

Not too sure how there are some negative comments on here. The food was spot on (Perhaps you have never tried Chinese in the UK?!). We tried a set meal which was perfect. Lovely flavours, well presented, Speedy and excellent service. The food was on-par to food I've tasted in Asia so certainly couldn't ask for more! Sate's a must to try.

“Great food, friendly service, try their specialities menu”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 14, 2012

They have excellent dishes, but best to try one of their "rijsttafels" (rice-tables). It's more a complete menu than an official rice-table, the best Asian food I had in a long time.

“Nice dinner at Chi-Ling.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 6, 2010

Wanting a change from the Holiday Inn restaurant I walked next door to Chi-Ling, the Chinese Specialty Restaurant for dinner. A warm and pleasant welcome was awaiting me. I ordered a-la carte being alone - the menu had many dinner plans for couples or groups, which would have been more affordable. The service was quick, efficient and with excellent English. My food was very presentable and delicious.

“Above average for a Chinese restaurant in the Netherlands”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 24, 2009

This restaurant is located in Ijmuiden Seaport Marina, so the surroundings are rather pleasant, providing you ignore the distant view of the steelworks.

The menu is large and varied. If you order a set menu it can be rather cheap, but there are also expensive specialities such as turbot and lobster. I can recommend both the latter and also the crispy duck in pancakes. I would avoid the mongolian hot plate dishes as they come with very heavy sauces.

Chinese restaurants in the Netherlands tend to be rather poor, with too many indonesian influences and with most dishes stir fried. This is definitely better than average, with a selection of stewed, roasted and steamed dishes as well as the inevitable stir fries. It doesn't compare with a good chinese restaurant in e.g. London though.

The wine list is small, but has some good quality reasonably priced bottles (I recommend the Pouilly Fuisse).

“Chill-Out”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 12, 2009

My partner and I had a set menu for about 25 euros each. We were offered fried rice and chinese noodles, so accepted, we were not told that there was an extra charge for these, but there was. The food was run-of-the-mill with the exception of the beef dish which most bizarrely was actually lamb, even though the waiter was very very helpful and most pleasant he would not accept my assertion that is was lamg, suggesting that it was the bean sauce. I have never eaten lamb in a Chinese Restaurant before, it was OK, though NOT beef. The building is a pleasing round shape, the decor classic chinese, the presentation of the food down to the delightfully carved carrot in the shape of a fish and ocean waves was very good, but the food was dull. I have been told many times in Chinese restaurants that the food is prepared with Dutch people in mind, i.e. slightly less flavoured, but this restaurant is supposed to be more authentic...it is however not. I have been a Chef De Cuisine for more than 21 years, I know food. The food here was OK, but that is all. Stick to China town in Amsterdam, the food is often better in flavour, and better value, or if you are in Haarlem, the Jin Lai on Prins Bernhardlaan offers a better meal. One good thing, the car park is free if you get the ticket in the restaurant.
