“I loved it!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2014

This hostel was the best one i've stayed in so far!! The people there were really friendly and helpful. I stayed in a beautiful room with 14 beds and met a lot of new and interesting people from all over the world. The bathroom and shower were amazing! I walked in and thought i was in a really fancy hotel... The fact that the free wifi was only available in the lobby was mostly good... It "forced" you to go down and talk to some people, but it was sometimes also a bit annoying.
Loved the stay, I can only recommend it!!

The Hello I'm local is a really good place to stay either if you want to make a quick stop in Haarlem (like I did), or you want to explore the north holland province. The personnel is really friendly and willing to help in everything they can.
It's is very good located, just at a 10 minutes walk from the center.

The rooms are very spacious, comfortable and quiet. There's no TV, and the wifi only works in the common area. Although there's no parking, the personnel indicates you directions to open air parkings just at a 5 minutes distance of the Hostel.

There are several options for breakfast if it's not included in your room price, at a reasonable price.

I absolutely loved this place- if you get a chance to go, do not hesitate. Staff is wonderful, decor is great, atmosphere amazing, beds were comfy, city is gorgeous, and wifi in lobby was just fine! The commitment to keeping everything local is shown. The way this place is decorated and set up is so cute! They also have a microwave, kettle, and fridge you can use. I liked that the shower and toilet were separate from the room. I would love to go back and spend a few more nights at this great hostel!

Lovely stay at the Hello I'm Local Boutique Hostel. Share a room with 3 other friends in a very clean, cosy room. Nice bathroom with a good shower. Great location (5 minutes to the city centre) with free parkingspace within a 5 minute walk from the hostel.
We had a breakfast which was a bit expensive (a bowl of yoghurt with some slices of apple and some muesli and coffee/tea). The bread breakfast was a bit better (different kinds of bread with some cheese, sprinkels etc. and coffee/ tea). Rather go out and get a nice breakfast.

I had the loveliest stay in Hello I'm Local. Greeted by friendly staff and moved from the 14 bed room to the all girls dorm as there was space for me there at no extra charge. The staff goes out of their way to make sure you have a nice time in Haarlem which is a beautiful and laid back city. The rooms are immaculately clean and the beds are so comfy. Plus it's only a 20 minute bus ride to the beach and a 20 minute train ride into Amsterdam. The photos and reviews of this place speak for themselves. You absolutely get a local boutique experience here. Tip: skip Amsterdam and commute from here! I highly recommend it!

Stayed here for two nights early week. It's the chicest hostel I've ever stayed in - all white walls, mismatched vintage furniture & a lovely courtyard. There's a calm & welcoming atmosphere in the common areas.

We stayed in the double room with maps on the wall which looks over the street. There's a pub over the road which only opens later in the week so we weren't disturbed but I don't know whether that might be a bother on the weekends. The bed & shower were huge & there's plenty of hooks for hanging clothes (no wardrobe though if thats a deal breaker for you)

The dutch breakfast for €5 was lovely & very filling and theres a good selection of drinks behind the bar at reasonable prices.

We want to go back!

Quirky and lovely hotel/hostel. We stayed in a private 2 person room which was clean, comfortable and i loved the dutch decoration. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Communal areas are really nice and the dutch breakfast (not included) was delicious and good value. Well located for walking into town but would be quite far on foot from the train station. As it was, we arrived by bicycle which they stored securely in their garage so that didn't bother us. Would definitely stay again.

Room Tip: The rooms are all very individual so I'd recommend looking at the website to choose the one you...
