Stayed at the Carlton whilst on business in Haarlem.
Breakfast was OK, but best part was the Whiskey Bar. Very capable staff, diverse range of whiskey, would certainly stay at the Carlton again if in the area. 10/10 for the Whiskey Bar.

Stayed 3 nights here (as one of three couples travelling together) to visit the Rijksmuseum and the Haarlem museums. Very friendly and helpful staff, clean rooms, comfortable beds and good toiletries in the bathroom - a very good 3 for 2 night deal which included a more than adequate buffet breakfast, a properly stocked mini-bar, welcome drink and Wi-Fi. We did not use the hotel restaurant for the evening meal but it looked OK. The only slight downside is that whilst ideally placed for the beautiful city of Haarlem (worth a visit in its own right) with its great shops and museums (and some very good but not always inexpensive) restaurants you do need to bus or train to Amsterdam for the major museums etc. However the bus no 80 which runs from just round the corner to within a 10 minute walk of the Rijksmuseum and Canal Cruises only takes around 35 minutes and costs 3.10 Euros each way - so it is a minor issue. The 300 bus from the airport runs right by the hotel but with 6 of us we hired a mini-bus from a company called Tinker (on the Schiphol transfer web-site) which was not only the cheapest (15 Euros for each couple) but worked both ways exactly "as advertised",

Room Tip: We had booked de-luxe rooms but two of us were upgraded to Executive - worth asking. Our room, look...

Staff at reception very helpful and I enjoyed a great breakfast. Helpful in directing me to shops I required. Even supplied an umbrella. The mini bar was well stocked. The rain shower was just what I needed. Neat and wel equipped bathroom.

Room Tip: Wifi readily available all over the hotel

I stayed here for two nights with work and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The staff were friendly and helpful, suggesting great nearby sites and the atmosphere of the place was welcoming. The real piece de resistance of the stay was the beds - they were large and very, very comfortable.

The whisky bar downstairs was lovely with a great selection. The breakfast also had a good selection, supplying my favourite Dutch delicacy, sprinkle sandwiches. The cooked breakfast was also good and there was a large array of fruit for those less sprinkle-inclined.

The only real negatives were the fact that it was next to a place called Sexclub Penthouse, which, though barely noticeable, was slightly odd to see when returning late at night. The decor of the hotel could also do with some updating as it was a bit dated, though it wasn't a huge problem.

Just returned from business trip. Stayed in a deluxe room - more than enough space. Just as the photos on website. Bathroom brand new and sparkling clean, no bathtub so lovely large rain shower. Superking sized bed. Thought the bed was a little on the soft side but i prefer a firm mattress. Lighting was a bit odd as only one overhead next to door and all other light source from lamps. TV provided BBC1, 2, 4 news and ITV. Buffet Breakfast included in price. Only ate fruit and cheese so cannot comment on the rest of the offerings. Plenty of newspapers for everyone. FREE wifi - London hotels take note :) Would definite stay again for business or holiday.

We stayed here in June, fantastic,

Upgraded for £11 per night to executive room , well worth it. Some reviews we read not good, thank goodness that we ignored them, we couldn't fault the hotel in any way.

Staff extremely friendly & helpful

Will definitely stay at this hotel again

Room Tip: Room 502 Executive room, Full complimentary mini bar, replenished daily
