“Outstanding & good value, if slightly conservative”
Reviewed April 6, 2013

We had the four course set menu for about fifty Euros, this was great value for money. Apart from the four courses there was a very nice amuse at the beginning. The fitting wine arrangement with the set menu was outstandingly good. Bread was ample and vey good as well. Nice touch was the unlimited supply of table water in bottles for a fixed price of Euro 2,50 - this in contrast with many better quality restauarnts where they make you pay a lot of money for bottled water. Service was non-intrusive but informative. The restaurant was stylish with a fairly sparse decoration contrasted with some huge vases of pink flowers. Cooking was really good, somewhat conservative with lots of purees and foams which is a bit the vogue of 2008, however very tasty. We ran pretty late but the staff showed no sign of impatience whatsoever.

“Still amazing food and good value”
Reviewed February 23, 2013 via mobile

I ate from the set menu. Superb amuse bouche came smoking to the table. The crab/smoked halibut starter was superb. The main of beef and celeriac was excellent. Unfortunately, I was unable to taste the star anise in the sauce. My partner ate the ham platter which was to die for. This was followed by the salsify risotto with Parmesan foam and shaved truffles. Both were superb. The service as always was brilliant. Translations were excellent. Another fantastic meal. A Haarlem tradition.

“Great oysters!)”
Reviewed February 20, 2013 via mobile

My husband and I stayed in Lambermon suites, so the choice for the restaurant was clear!
We had a three-course menu and had oysters to start with. We chose the Dutch ones, and they were magnificent!
Other dishes were also beautifully presented and tasted great!
I wouldn't be surprised if they got a Michelin star sometime soon!

“Culinary art after Rafael's art”
Reviewed February 16, 2013

Having seen other reviews we headed to Lambermon's after visiting the Rafael exhibition just around the corner. What a great combination! The restaurant interior was modern, spacious and comfortable. We were seated near the open kitchen adding to the atmosphere and experience. The range of choices was outstanding..wines by the glass or full bottles, meat (aged, dried hams), cheese, fish - spoiled for choice! The service was friendly, efficient and unintrusive. Our special request for a salad starter was accepted without hesitation and the combination of greens, toasted nuts and cheese was creative and tasty! The mains were equally satisfying such that our only disappointment was the end of the meal.

“Creative cooking in the centre of Haarlem”
Reviewed October 25, 2012

The lunch menu priced at 30 euro for two courses offers good value, à la carte eating will cost you between 50 and 70 euros. The wine menu offers a wide variety of interesting choices. The dishes are creative and well prepared. My first impression was that there was too much going on on the plate, but the food pairings are intelligent and well matched. I went for the à la carte menu and had six oysters as an entree. They were exquisite and fleshy, except for one which was so tiny you could hardly see it on the shell. I would expect a restaurant of this class to discard such misfits and substitute them with a full-sized specimen. That this did not happen spontaneously, is in my opinion a black mark. The service lacks warmth, but is on the whole correct. This is an interesting address and one of the few top restaurants in Haarlem open for lunch on a Saturday.
