“A gem in Haarlem!”

What a lovely and friendly, relaxed home. I'm staying in the Provence room on the ground floor and it's very nice - large, high ceilings, nice simple decor. Owners are nice, waited breakfast dir me as I recovered from jet lag. Convenient, 5 minute walk from station. Highly recommend.

The Mya B&B is located only a few minutes walk from the center square in Haarlem, and less than 8 minutes from the main train station -- making it an excellent location to explore the western Netherlands coast, Aalsmeer Flower Markets, and Amsterdam. It is less than a 15 minute ride by train to the center of Amsterdam, where all of the key sites and activities can be accessed on foot or by tram/bus. Bottom line -- for location it is perfect. Parking can be a problem, but Albert provided directions to free parking, though it is a mile walk back to the B&B -- but a beautiful walk along the canals and picturesque houses/buildings. There are several rooms, but we can speak to only the one we stayed in -- located at the top (two floors up). The room was huge, with a double bed and a single bed (as we had three adults). The bathroom, with shower, toilet and sink were part of the main room -- and since the shower had clear glass walls it took some planning to let all get private showers. A large wardrobe was in the room, but was filled with clothes so no place to hang jackets or clothes. The room itself was beautiful, with modern fixtures, renovated interior that left the old heavy beams exposed. While not a big issue for us, the stairs up two floors are the original very narrow and steep stairs typical of these old Dutch row houses. Reservations were easily made on the Mya website. A nice breakfast was provided -- not the best we had on our two week trip, but still very nice. The hosts were nice, friendly and accommodating but lacked some of the polish of other proprietors we have observed over the years. They seemed more laid back and casual, and didn't provide the full range of travel advice and assistance as some places. All this said, Mya was a very nice place to stay, the room was large and comfortable and the location superb.

We stayed there one night, but wish we could have stayed longer! In this tiny, quiet street, very close to the Grote Markt, you will find this B&B hidden among the houses. We stayed at the attic room which was spacious, quiet, and bright thanks to the skylights in the roof. The shower, bathroom-sinks and bathtub (for two!) are brand new, and everything was super clean. The bed was super-comfortable. The toilet is open to the room but for a small glass wall, and while other guests found that upsetting, we find that the placement in the room makes up for it. The hosts are great and will treat you very well. Albert prepared an amazing breakfast which included orange juice which he squeezed right in front of us. The location of the B&B is a mere 8 minutes walk from the Haarlem Rail Station, so getting there from the airport is very simple. In fact, the B&B is in a great location to see Haarlem. I definitely recommend staying here when you visit the Netherlands.

Room Tip: Ask for the attic!

Roda and Albert at Mya are welcoming, friendly, and very helpful hosts. The breakfasts were traditional Dutch and delicious (and as many have said - wonderful fresh-squeezed orange juice each morning). The open bathroom arrangement startled me at first but it wasn't an issue. (If you are traveling with someone who is just an 'acquaintance', you might want to set up a schedule for private use of the room for your toilette.) The third floor had just been renovated and Albert was able to schedule us for that room rather than us splitting our time between Mya and a hotel -what a blessing and very much appreciated! The room has skylights and French doors, very bright and light. The location is very convenient to many sights in the old city - St. Bavo's church, Corrie ten Boom house, the Adrianne windmill, the Grot Markt (be sure to visit it on weekends!). Also very convenient to the train / bus station, just down the block. We plan to stay here again when we return for our daughter's wedding...date to be announced!

Room Tip: Choose a room on the ground floor if you have trouble with stairs. The third floor room, however, i...

We had a delightful six night stay with Albert and Rhoda in the magical city of Haarlem. The studio on the top floor was huge, well appointed with a view of the stars from our bed! The studio is up two flights of narrow stairs but well worth the climb. The other rooms are on the ground floor. The B&B is centrally located so we could walk to all the major sights. Thanks to Albert’s help we were able to park the car in a nearby covered parking station costing €51.30 per week instead of €20 per day. He also directed us to a laundromat on a small square surrounded by cafes, rather than the one nearby on a busy street. A great stay in a beautiful city.

We needed a short night stay, I had always wanted to check this BB out since I read so many good reviews on Tripadvisor.

Having stayed at another BB nearby a week before this one, I was eager to see how much better Mya would be.

I cannot commend on the hospitality of the host since we did not do much communication, but i am sure they are friendly bunch.

We stayed at the front room, everything is good except that the windows open up to the road (no privacy) and the toilet was in a semi open corner in the room. We are a couple but we don't enjoy listening/smelling to each other doing the "business". Luckily there is a separate toilet out of the room in the kitchen area where we could use when need to.

This would probably be the only major down side of the place, but I value my bathroom set up and therefore an "average" for the place. Price is great though if you don't mind the open toilet.

This winter we used again to do some improvements to the room. Both rooms now have an enclosed bathroom en-suite for your privacy.

Only one night on business, but wish it were more. The b&b is on a quiet side street near to the town centre and a short walk from the station. Nice size, about 5 x 7m, comfortable bed and spotlessly clean. Had to leave early so didn't have time for breakfast but the orange juice was freshly pressed from real oranges so I must have missed a treat.

Room Tip: Bed was nice and soft which might not suit people with a back problem so you might want to talk to t...
