This was so different to another similar house. It was a personalised guided tour not only of a house but of a family's life and generosity. Be aware that you will have to climb stairs. though it is done in small sections. At the end of the tour you felt that you had met the ten Boom clan. One not to miss

The Corrie Ten Boom house has a similar story to the Anne Frank house only it is free and you dont have to queue for hours to get in.

A personal guide tells the story and allows your to ask questions, and is very informative. If you dont mind a bit of religious flavour in the stories then it is well worth it.

We arrived in Amsterdam on a cruise ship. It was quite simple to take the train to Haarlem, and make our way to this muesum. There were tours in English offered, with a sign posted on the door showing the next available time. The visit was free, but was worth much more. The guide did an excellent job of explaining the story and the history, as well as bringing a perspective of the era to life.

While the visit isn't complete without seeing the actual room where the people were hidden, it is so much more than that.

Corrie was an amazing woman, sharing the Gospel the world-round. I did not know anything about her prior to this visit. I have more to learn indeed.

This is an amazing testimony to the faith of the ten Boom family, and how they were able to assist those being persecuted during WWII. For more insight, read the book or watch the movie, "The Hiding Place". You will appreciate this house all the more. Be sure to check times for English language tours or Dutch language tours; you may have to schedule around the times of the tours.

I saw the movie "The Hiding Place" when I was young. It was amazing to be in the house where Corrie lived, worked, and helped save 800 Jews, resisters, and young Dutch men. The docent was very knowledgeable and friendly, and the house/museum was very well kept. The town of Haarlem itself is also quite lovely.
