I was lucky enough to stay in one of the Lofts at Hotel V and what can I say besides "what a hell of room". But before I get you all worked up about the great lofts which pretty much made me feel like being in a suite let's talk about the hotel itself. Classy, trendy and cosy those are the first words that come to mind. The lobby is amazing with a fireplace and a great (huge) leather couch which circles the fire spot... It feels great to warm up after a long day of walk throughout the city. But that's not all, the staff is super friendly and even better the breakfast buffet is of great quality. It's not huge like in some other hotels but I prefer to have less but better quality. I don't know what else to say, this place is amazing and very close to the center (by foot). The neighbourhood is lovely and no noisy. I would recommend this to anyone who has good taste and who loves to stay in beautiful hotels.

Room Tip: Do not hesitate.... take one of the lofts!!!!

Visited Amsterdam with my brother in law that was traveling Europe for the summer. Stayed in one of the V Lofts that had just been renovated. Amanda was super helpful in getting us all set up and the staff was great with recommendations for food, bars, laundry, etc. The loft itself has it's own entrance around the corner from the hotel lobby which gives a great feeling of having your own loft in the middle of the city while having the accommodations of a hip hotel. Loft itself was modern, big windows overlooking the street, couch, table and with a mock fireplace that would have been a nice touch for anyone that wasn't rooming with their brother in law. So much better than be confined to you typical hotel room with two beds and no space. Highly recommended!

This hotel comes with a stylish bar area, its in a great part of Amsterdam, walking distance to the actioned pack Amsterdam city centre, and right next ro tram stops, so you really can get anywhere you want. In comparison to other hotels in the centre area of Amsterdam, and with the corporate type hotels on the edge of city, its great value for money.

The bar area of the hotel is very stylish, it had an open fire and nice feel to it. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

There is a catch, and that's the rooms. Most of the rooms are in the basement of hotel, the floor below the bar. This floor and the rooms have been painted jet black and are pretty spartan, this might be modern, different and cool for the arty farty crowd, but for me it felt like your were in a dungeon. The room had a tiny high up window ,black walls, black ceiling and black concrete type floor, kind of like a wet floor.

I found the room an acceptable trade off for the location / cost, but that's because I was visiting Amsterdam on my own, my Mrs certainly wouldn't of have been impressed if I booked this hotel as a couple,

Room Tip: As a hotel guest you get free quality coffee at the bar, so take advantage of it.

really, what more can you want from a hotel? Very (very) handy to trams and walkable distance to just about everything. the atmosphere is friendly - helped by the relaxed lobby/bar/breakfast/fire area. We has an 'XL' sized room, which was great - but not huge. Bed was excellent. Gotta love these European breakfasts too! we would definitely go back - though might be a bit nervous in summer as there does not appear to be Air Con in the rooms.

Room Tip: even the XL rooms aren't huge.... ?Air Con for summer

It's my first-choice hotel whenever I'm in Amsterdam. The rooms are clean, fresh and comfortable, and the reception/dining area is a nice place to hang out: free tea and coffee too. The location is excellent, with a tram stop immediately opposite. Lots of restaurants nearby on Utrectsestrasse or Rembrandtplein. But it's the staff who make this place so good - helpful and really friendly.

I stayed for 3 nights in the Loft of the hotel. The location is beautiful especially the view from my room! It really gave me a perfect 'Home'feeling because of the fireplace and the small kitchen. Location is perfect, middle of the city center but not too touristy. This was everything I was looking for!
