Wether you want a quick bit, lunch, small salad, or a full meal, this is perfect. I love a place that let's everyone have their own pick, and still end up at the same table.

As first time vistors we found it a bit confusing at first, but nothing that scared us :-) If we had stayed for a longer period, we would have eaten their more then once. I'm sure!

This is a nice place to go to if you want to eat relatively well and pay a reasonable price.
I live in Amsterdam and have lunch here every once in a while and every time a friend visits we make sure we stop at La Place!
Its cheap and they have a lot to chose from.

People complain about how its seems to be an open market, but that's what makes it so interesting!
Most of the things you order are made on the spot!

I really like going here I use to love going for the pizzas but now I have discovered two other cool things: chicken with fries and a really nice HUGE burger with fries! Oh and there is also good steaks!

I was there only to get a coffee and milk shake.
The atmosphere is very nice and the quality of the products is high.

The food is OK, nothing more. Lots of people. Poor value for the money. There are several buffets under one roof that look like one restaurant, but they actually have separate cashiers. You have to pay for your dessert at the first floor and for your main course on the other. There are better places. Even thought this is a self service restaurant and you have to run between cashiers to pay for it, the price is as a "sit-down and be served restaurant".

We went to several La Place branches during our stay in Amsterdam and they were all pretty good - there are several options including stir-fries (pretty bland but you can add spice), pizza, burgers, sandwiches, other cooked meals, desserts (great cakes!) and coffee/tea/drinks. You pick what you want and then you pay at the register. The stir-fries did take awhile to make (there were a couple of people ahead of us) but they were really filling and fresh. We got stir-fries, dessert and coffee for around EUR 30 for both of us, which is a great value. The public library branch has an amazing view of town, I'd go there just for that.
