We wandered into this place while it was crazy crowded outside, and this restaurant was a peaceful oasis from the outside chaos. We tried several different dishes, all served family-style in the center of the table. The tandoori chicken was a bit dry. The lentils were delicious. Service was pleasant and efficient. I do not eat alot of Indian food, and I enjoyed this meal very much.

We went here with a Groupon voucher that we bought for about 25 euro's (2 persons) and it turned out to be a really good deal.
At first, there was some confusion about the voucher (we didn't print the .pdf but printed the email) but they accepted it in the end.
The waiter and waitress didn't speak Dutch too well, but for us this was not really a problem. The food was perfect. We had a sort of mixed grill starter with a chicken tandoori, sheekh kebab, etc. The naan was really delicious and so were the papadums. As main course we had chicken tikka masala, vegetable curry and lamb balti. All were superb. Only thing was that the lamb was a bit too spicy for our tastes.
The restaurant certainly deserves it many tripadvisor and michelin recommendations, but when you eat a la carte I think it's a bit overpriced.

My wife and I decided to have dinner at Memories of India for our first night in Amsterdam. It was a beautiful night, but we decided to eat inside. The staff is very friendly and accommodating and sat us right away. The restaurant is very clean and service was excellent. We started out with spicy prawns which were excellent and cooked to perfection. We were also provided with crispy flatbread with a choice of sauces which included mango chutney and mint/cilantro. For our entree, we had the eggplant curry and lamb rogan josh accompanied with rice which were presented on a very nice warming tray. The entree cam with delicious and warm garlic naan. For dessert we had kulfi which was quite good.

The amount of food was plentiful and enough to take with us and make another meal out of it! We were able to sit and savor the meal--we forgot how late sunset is in Amsterdam (9:30 p.m.). It was an excellent dining experience. If you enjoy Indian food and are in Amsterdam, give it a try.

The food here surprised me and far exceeded my already high expectations upon arriving. We ordered both a spicy curry and a milder spinach/veggie dish.

Both were perfect---lots of flavor & spice, with the curry being quite hot, and the spinach being mild, yet still full of flavor. The chefs here clearly know what they are doing and their Michelin recommendations are a testament to that. The naan was also a perfect accompaniment to the dishes.

The service was quick & friendly, and you can eat inside or out (we ate outside and enjoyed the great weather). I recommend ordering more rather than less & bring leftovers back for later...it's worth it : )
