Description: Fifteen restaurant in Amsterdam is an exciting offshoot of Jamie Oliver’s famous Fifteen London, a great example of one set of dynamic, generous people inspiring others to act. In this case, the ‘others’ are Sarriel Taus and Coen Alewijnse who have created this combination restaurant and chef’s school in partnership with Fifteen London to benefit the struggling young people of Amsterdam. So what’s it like at the dining end of the equation? Very cool. The arty cosmopolitan style includes vibrant graffiti-scrawled sheet metal walls contrasting nice with the smart, sleek modern lines, designer seating and white table cloths. The restaurant seats up to 200, yet can still feel right for an dinner a deux. Each night a tasting menu is on offer, inspired by Jamie Oliver incorporating only the freshest regional produce. The modern Italian menu changes weekly and includes one of Jamie’s favourite antipasti to start, a first dish of fresh pasta, gnocchi or risotto, second course of meat, fish, poultry or game, and, we’re quoting here, ‘a wicked dessert’. A wine tasting menu is available to match the food tasting menu, or choose your own from the excellent list.

“Good food, reasonably priced, service mediocre”
Reviewed November 4, 2013 via mobile

First of all, the food was good. Not excellent, but absolutely worth your money. Had the chef's choice for 60 euros pp. The grilled plaice was absolutely delicious. The entrecôte not impressive. Blueberry surprise dessert also a winner.
They do not offer a matching wine package. And actually sort of forget that you might want more to drink, when they have gotten you started.

To relate to 4 different waiters is not really optimal either.

“A tasty experience”
Reviewed October 29, 2013

For sure the best is to take the taster menu, even if it is not on a Monday. and let them to surprise you with a lot of small portions but with great flavors and very well executed. I will not recommend to take individual dishes because it will be too small.

Had a great time with my friends. The surprise menu was quite nice, and the extra oysters tasted heavenly. I really recommend this restaurant

“Monday night taster ”
Reviewed October 25, 2013 via mobile

We booked in here on a Monday night. Turns out Mondays are carnage with everybody doing the secret taster menu for 35 euros. The first plate was a rather hefty portion of salamis and ham which results in the loss of a star, just don't see the point. The other 4 courses were all excellent though and we'll presented and tasted great. Only other issue was the time it took to get served but considering we ate for well under 100 euros the quality of food was excellent at that price and we were fairly stuffed.

“Not a fan of the fussy food”
Reviewed October 23, 2013

The menu looked great at first glance. We like to share plates in order to taste more. I found the 1st and 2nd courses completely incongruous. Enjoyed the mixed charcuterie a lot but the main dishes, teeny, tiny, artistic statements, left me wanting. The Foie Gras (1tablespoon max) was poorly cleaned and I had to trim off a fatty piece with connective tissue...bad form. Didn't stay for dessert.
