This property was voted the favorite by our family of 6 after a month traveling which included stays at over 8 different locations. From the time it was booked until the day we left, the owners were friendly and helpful, giving information on all matters queried from directions to transport to shopping. It was spacious with 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms (including a bath) a fully equipped kitchen, separate dining & living areas. It was almost like being home. They even had Apple TV & free wi-if included in the price. If you have mobility issues, particularly with stairs, however, it wouldn't be suitable as the different zones are separated by stairs. The boat doesn't move but is permanently moored on the Amstel.
We loved the location as it was 'local' meaning it was in a regular neighborhood outside of the tourist 'circle' of attractions but we could still easily reach these attractions either by tram or on foot (it took us about 40 mins to get to Dam square - maybe a bit long for some but our family enjoyed the chance to explore). There are supermarkets and restaurants an easy 5 minute walk. It was also relatively quiet.
The only negative was that the kitchen lighting wasn't great. I expect in summer when it's not overcast and it stays light for longer, this wouldn't be an issue.

We had a great stay on the Amstel river! Staying on a houseboat was so much fun! It was close to the Metro and tram systems.. Away from the Centraal area which was ok because it's not too far, and closer to the marathon which was our main reason for visit..
The boat was clean and roomy.. Ed and Carmen were wonderful hosts! They accommodated us in every way we needed. We loved our stay and we would consider staying there again if we return.
We (5 adults) stayed for two nights in this simply wonderful Houseboat! All contact with Mariette prior to arrival was informative, professional and very helpful. The owners greeted us and informed us of local markets, the best way into the centre, near by shops etc...We also rented bikes which they organised (highly recommend to get around Amsterdam!!)
The boat itself was beautiful, modern, spacious, clean and fully equipped! We all simply loved the deck at the front of the boat...We spent a whole afternoon/evening relaxing, eating and drinking in the glorious sunshine!
I can't recommend this houseboat highly enough...evening specially if you are travelling in a group...much much much better and probably alot cheaper than a hotel!
Thank you for letting us stay! ☺
The Boat is very well equipped. Kitchen and bathrooms were great. Plenty of space to relax and the deck was lovely to sit out and watch the river.
The Houseboat is in a residential area with excellent shops and cafes within easy walking distance. Although you can walk into the centre of Amsterdam in about 30-40 minutes, we used the tram system to get about more quickly (the lines 3 & 4 both stop nearby) for much of our stay.
Absolutely loved the boat. Surprisingly space pus considerin four people staying aboard for the duration. Very clean and all mod cons. Supermarket very close by and convenient.
Location is a good fifteen minutes stroll to the outer canal belt which was the only let down the party.
We were there over New Tear's - a wonderful space. The kitchen was very adequate- we enjoyed shopping at the local stores and markets. The bathrooms were very good . Close to the tram lines and shopping.
We really enjoyed this modern boat! The rooms were very pretty and well decorated. The location was good but a little farther out from the center than we would have liked. However the boat itself made up for that, as we loved every moment we spent in it.
