“average”

We had a dinner on 26th. Quite busy restaurant, lot of tourists. Hors dóuvre with pulpi was average. Not tasty, rather lethery, fresh salad that went along was OK. For main dish I ahve taken calamari with fried vegetables. Calamari were unfortunately even more lethery (hard to chew), vegetables fried on tempura manner tastefull. For 19 euro way too expensive espcially since there were only five calamari ! My wife and daughter ate pasta that was a dente, saus was mediocre. ine was simple yet 32,50 for bottle of country pinot grigio from Furlania is not cheap.

“Lucked Out”
Reviewed April 28, 2013

Happened to walk by this packed restaurant on a Saturday night, and was able to sneak in without reservations. The atmosphere was great, though service for us during the Saturday night mayhem was poor.
It was 15 minutes before the waiter dropped by for our drink order, so we pushed through the dinner order at the same time. During the meal, we ordered another round of Peroni's, never received these, yet they appeared on the bill. But the highlight of the night was either when I was accidentally clubbed in the head by our waiter as he rushed passed, or when he asked my colleague to enter a tip during the credit card entry.....

Fortunately for CdD, I dine for the food and not the service! The food came quickly once it was ordered and the olive tapenade served with the bread was excellent, the mozerrella salad was nice (cheese excellent, accompanying flavours just ok). The wood fired italian pizza was as expected (considering we are in Amsterdam), the risotto was nicely flavored though lacking the creaminess it deserved from proper perparation, however the duck breast served with the rissoto was cooked perfectly and nicely complemented with a sweet sauce.

Prices were reasonable, and I dont believe this service level is the norm.

“Excellent value”

We decided that we wanted a Thursday night treat, so we went here. Excellent 2 course meal with wine, and it didnt break the bank. Tip - if you can get a table on the ground floor, as the upper floors can get very warm.

“Absolutely fantastic”

Everything about our experience at Casa Di David was wonderful. The food, the service, the atmosphere were all first class. We hadn't booked and arrived just after 7.30pm. The restaurant was very full, but there was one table left, which was lucky for us. For the rest of the evening they were turning people away in their droves. It is set beside one of the canals and is spread over two floors. We had a really lovely evening. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting a really relaxed evening with lovely food.

“Good food and nice restaurant”
Reviewed April 20, 2013 via mobile

I loved the layout of the restaurant although you need to be very careful walking in the stairs.
Food and winecwas excellent.

Service was a bit slow but we had great company and a lot of fun so that was not a problem.

Would recommend this restaurant to others.
