Description: Bridges Inspired by Ron Blaauw Bridges seafood restaurant is located at the front of Sofitel Legend The Grand Amsterdam, the location and the building are special. Bridges restaurant is all about fish! The best 'fins' possible, caught at the best moment. Always in season, never out of it. We offer a large selection of mainly Dutch seafood, whether it is in the restaurant, the Bar or the Cocktail Bar. Local, organic vegetables complement the seafood; a perfect match of the sea meeting the land, with a French twist. The Wine Room is stocked with 'great whites'; fish just needs good 'vins'.

“Great Food, Lovely setting”
Reviewed October 30, 2012

This is a fantastic restaurant, recommended by all the locals who place it in a "special occassions" category.

We had built up quite a hunger by the time we got here after walking about various squares in Amsterdam.

It's adjoined to quite a fancy hotel, which I do not remember the name of, but this made the entrance of the restaurant very grand, as it's in a cobbled courtyard with some well-dressed porters inviting you in.

The decor of the restaurant is very modern - lots of steel and glass. The toilets were immaculate. Staff were well dressed, very polite, and very knowledgeable about foods/wines etc...

We were rubbing shoulders with some pretty well-to-do locals, and I even spotted Dennis Bergkamp wearing a tuxedo - he appeared to be doing some kind of speaking engagement.

Anyway, the food was superb, we specifically looked this place up because of its seafood reputation. We weren't disappointed. The scallops were superb, the choice of wines was impressive, and even though I opted for steak for main, that was also excellent. My partner had monkfish which was beautifully cooked with a lovely rich taste(I had a few bites to make sure!!).

It was expensive compared to some other places we'd eaten, but we didn't expect any less, we knew it's reputation, saw the setting, and checked the menu before we went, so we were well prepared.

It was definitely worth it - highly recommended.

“Excellent fresh seafood”
Reviewed October 19, 2012 via mobile

Excellent service and sommelier. They have several choices that are not from the sea but fresh seafood is what they do. It's pricey but worth it because of the quality in their ingredients. We had oysters, halibut/monkfish entrees, and dessert all with wines. We came dressed for an transcontinental plane trip and they treated us like royalty. Great place!!

“used to be great, now downhill”
Reviewed October 16, 2012

this restaurant used to have impeccable courteous service, now it is plain rude. The food used to be scrumptious, now it is boring & wrongly seasoned. When I mentioned to the server that my course is over-salted - the answer was ok. The only thing that is consistent is the price, remained very high. It is not worth it.

“Fantastic for gluten free. Diners”
Reviewed October 8, 2012

I was really delighted with lunch The wait staff is well trained and attentive. The chef has a nice tough with flavours. The fish was fantastic and the gluten free bread (warm from the oven) was an absolute delight. Highly recommended.
