This is a fantastic restaurant, recommended by all the locals who place it in a "special occassions" category.
We had built up quite a hunger by the time we got here after walking about various squares in Amsterdam.
It's adjoined to quite a fancy hotel, which I do not remember the name of, but this made the entrance of the restaurant very grand, as it's in a cobbled courtyard with some well-dressed porters inviting you in.
The decor of the restaurant is very modern - lots of steel and glass. The toilets were immaculate. Staff were well dressed, very polite, and very knowledgeable about foods/wines etc...
We were rubbing shoulders with some pretty well-to-do locals, and I even spotted Dennis Bergkamp wearing a tuxedo - he appeared to be doing some kind of speaking engagement.
Anyway, the food was superb, we specifically looked this place up because of its seafood reputation. We weren't disappointed. The scallops were superb, the choice of wines was impressive, and even though I opted for steak for main, that was also excellent. My partner had monkfish which was beautifully cooked with a lovely rich taste(I had a few bites to make sure!!).
It was expensive compared to some other places we'd eaten, but we didn't expect any less, we knew it's reputation, saw the setting, and checked the menu before we went, so we were well prepared.
It was definitely worth it - highly recommended.
