For your more formal lunch. Beautiful interior, bit like a living room. I had a simple lunch with a friend but still managed to rack up a bill of 125 euros for the both of us.

We arrived with no reservations on a busy night, but the friendly staff sat us at the bar and after sipping a glass of wine a table was ready for us. We each ordered a different soup, both creamy and flavourful. My husband ate the fish of the day, a sole, and I had the tartar, which was just seasoned to my taste. We both really enjoyed our meal: the space is elegant without chichi, the wine glasses are of good quality - a detail often overlooked but which adds to the pleasure of a good meal, the atmosphere relaxed.

My wife and I went here over the weekend, as a follow-up to our previous visit in January 2013. The food was at the same high level as then, and the (house) wines excellent. The service was a bit too young and inexperienced, but made up for that with a friendly attitude. Recommended!

The atmosphere in this classic restaurant is always very nice, like the staff. But we find the prices for the food too high in view of the portions. A couple of spinach leaves with half an egg and some mushroom slices does not need to cost euro 12,50. Our advise would be: either lower the prices or increase the size of the portions.

If you want a nice and simple place in Amsterdam this is it. Try to get a table in the garden which is very romantic. The food is not so much French Brasserie but very well anyway. The winelist is poor but you can find some interesting wines anyway. Don't miss the "house cat" in the garden. Very cute.
