We had th 5 course menu which was excellent. The service was very good an the staff very attentive. With the wine it was a little on the pricey side but definately would recommend it to anyone wanting an excellent dining experience!

We were taken here by a family member who lives in Amsterdam and the recommendation proved to be spot on. Excellent food and service, an impressive wine list (but on the pricey side) and a great experience overall. Imaginative cooking, great flavors and quality. Perhaps a bit noisy but it comes with the territory. Would we go here again. You bet.

We just had a lovely meal at Visaandeschelde. What really sets this restaurant apart is their front of house. Emmanuel was our primary waiter and he was truly fantastic. The chefs menu sounded wonderful (you can get either 3, 4, or 5 courses) as did the special of the day (a crab tail). He offered to swap out one of the chefs courses for the crab for me and even rearranged the order of the dishes and the wine pairings to match. For the dessert wine, he offered to let us try two different styles ( a French and a New Zealand). When we mentioned being from New Zealand he quickly switched the wine so we could try something new.
The restaurant was absolutely packed (every seat inside full on a Monday night and several people seated outside, too) but this didn't stop Emmanuel and the others from taking the time to provide exceptional service. They never stood still or took a break. The pace was incredibly fast considering how hectic it was. We really liked how all the waiters worked together to ensure they took care of all the tables as one team. Apparently they are usually quite busy so I'd STRONGLY recommend coming a bit on the earlier side if you want slightly faster service.
Food was delicious especially the amuse bouche of gazpacho with basil oil. Highly recommend coming here. (It is a bit outside city centre but we found it was easy to hop on the tram - #25 - from Dam or Spui...)

A little out from the centre but easily walkable or tramable Vis aan de Schelde is truly a star restaurant buy any judgement.
We took the four course fixed menu and had a splendid array of interesting dishes, colourful with delicate flavours and textures served by attentive good humoured and thoroughly professional staff.
This was the sort of meal that makes you happy to be eating out!
The wine is a little pricey but good pairings can be ordered by the glass to keep the price reasonable.
Yum!

Had a nice meal in one of our old favourites; however service was slow, inconsistent and a bit chaotic at times. We had to ask for the menu after waiting a long while even though the restaurant was still mostly empty on an early weekday evening. The menu is hard to follow and i managed to mis-judge my choice of main course. I chose the fruits de mer platter which seemed a single person portion, but it was huge. Even though i'm generally known as a good eater, i couldn't finish half of it and felt embarrassed about saying goodbye to so much fine food. When asked the waiter confirmed it was meant for just one person ... impressive i guess.
The quality of the food was outstanding though. Very nice amuses. My wife's sashimi and bouillabaise were top (and generous as well), my bisque starter was also very very good. Nice Spanish white house wine as well.
