This was so good, we went twice over a 4 days trip. The owners and everyone working there are very friendly and the food on offer home made and authentic. On the first night we visited, they were frantically busy so we waited until a table became vacant. We chose from the 'a la carte' menu. Do try the pea soup with smoked bacon and beef stew cooked in onions with red cabbage. The second visit, we arrived much later. I think they may have been about to close, however we were welcomed warmly. This time, we were offered the set menu option. Both of us had something called 'over bake' which was the owners grandmothers recipe. Delicious, something like a Shepherds pie but with a twist. There was cauliflower and the meat had very slight curry flavour. A bit like Babote ( from Southern Africa ) Thought the prices were very reasonable as everything was cooked fresh. When in Amsterdam, don't miss the chance to dine here. Can be reached easily by Tram No 5
