We too went looking for Dutch food on our first trip to Amsterdam and found it at The Pantry. It is a small restaurant so need to make reservations or get there early. We went early, got the seat by the window and were very impressed with the service.
The waiter took the time to explain all the dishes and helped us choose from the menu. We had the pea soup, the hutspot, stamppot and jambon. All generous portions and all delicious at a reasonable price.
On a cold fall evening it was the perfect place to experience our first taste of the Netherlands! Would highly recommend!
