Without a doubt our favourite restaurant in Amsterdam. Having eaten here a few times this year, and numerous times over the last few years we were hoping not to be disappointed on our most recent visit.
Blaine and his team do an excellent job of making you feel welcome. The food this time was, in my opinion even better than a couple of months ago.
Our meal kicked off with a completentary serving of bread, oil and pickled vegetables, it was a great amuse bouche and really got us in the mood for our main courses.
I ordered the surf and turf (again) it was pretty much perfect, beautifully cooked pink beef, crisp pastry, a smooth mushroom sauce, full of large pieces of fresh mushrooms. A vibrant salad and plump perfectly cooked prawns with just the right amount of heat (spice) sat on top of Season's famous basil mash, I could eat a bucket full of the prawns and mash on its own, its that good!
My wife ordered the ribeye, she was very pleased with it, it came with a fresh salsa which again had the perfect amount of heat to it, and neither of us can ever recall eating better chips than what were served that evening.
Deserts were just as good, the rum soaked bananas and icecream were fantastic, the mississippi mud pie was just as good (yes, I ate some of my wifes desert as well as my own)
We couldn't have asked for a better end to our trip to Holland.
It was nice to meet you Blaine, thank you for your generous hospitality, its appreciated, please pass our thanks on to your staff. I look forward to seeing you again and enjoying your food when I return in August.
