“excellent take away service”
Reviewed April 27, 2013

The food here to take away is excellent quality and made in the kitchens of the restaurant which is part of the same buidling. However, its a fraction of the price ! Well worth a visit.

“Slightly disappointing”
Reviewed April 26, 2013

My husband really wanted to try this restaurant as he had eaten Indonesian food in Amsterdam several years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it, We had one of the tasting menus but sadly all the dishes seemed slightly overlooked and tough. The service was very poor. We had to wait for over 20 minutes for our finished dishes to be removed from the table. The restaurant is probably too big for the proper attention to be paid to customers. Very noisy and quite cramped too. Not a place I would recommend.

“Not so authentic yet a bit expensive”
Reviewed April 26, 2013

It seems that this restaurant is very popular, since there were already a lot of people at 4PM. The food was just so-so, not very authentic. Nasi Goreng was nothing like the ones in Indonesia. Curry was just fine, not worth the price. Unlike Indonesia, every dish comes in small portions, which was quite a disappointment. Beverages were actually pretty nice, and service was attentive, otherwise I would just give this restaurant 2 stars.

“Nice intro to indonesian food”
Reviewed April 24, 2013 via mobile

Good indonesian food. Better exists especially in the Hague. But this is a good with plenty of room for big groups.
A bit loud so not for romantic dinners more for friends having a social meal.
Decent prices.

“disappointing”
Reviewed April 22, 2013

Visited Kantjil on Saturday 20 April with great hopes but the rijstafel kantjil was disappointing to say least. 12 dishes but in reality 2 bowls of vegetables, one stir fried, one in a mild coconut liquor, a moderate rendang, 2X2 sticks of satay -both nice especially the fish, rice, spicy prawns in a banana leaf -ok, and other limited dishes. For nearly 30 euros each there was no really exciting cooking and it was all very basic and limited. Maybe the answer is to chose other types of dishes. We wont be rushing back.
