Some colleagues and I ate some weeks ago in Blauw aan de Wal. I had seen some good reviews.
Unfortunately, the restaurant did not distinguish itself from the most restaurants in Amsterdam. Much pretensions and only mediocre performances. All right, we had some nice food, but nothing really special. Except the price. We had a three course menu for 59 euro. In the nearby restaurant Lastage (one Michelin star) a three course menu is 39 euro. Next to the price, I was quite dissatisfied with the wine. We got wine with each course. The wines were not special, they did not really fit with the food, and we got longwinded explanations for each wine.
So, next time I will go to Lastage. Less expensive, much more refined food and a good sommelier.
