This gin museum is across from the Van Gogh Museum, and we went after reading some positive reviews. It gives you the history of Bols gin and has an interactive room with 38 atomizers containing the flavorings that might be added to a gin. Unfortunately for me, the Dutch are the tallest people in the world and I am not. All the atomizers were above my head, so I couldn't smell anything.
Part of your pricey 15 euro admission is given back to you in the form of a classic cocktail that you can choose (very nice) and 2 shots of different gins you can select from a long list. There are lots of young people there, and a bar atmosphere with loud music.
The place is definitely not accessible and the staff were not very accommodating to one of my companions who had recent knee surgery. She had to climb up and down the steep stairs to the basement, where the displays are, though I thought I saw an elevator that they denied having.
Do yourself a favor and have a nice drink or two in one of the outdoor cafes with the money you might spend on this advert for the Bols empire.
