INTERESTING: Lots of bags purses, etc charting through the ages of evolvement, lovely location tucked away on a side canal. The measeum expierience culminates in the 20th century with many designer items previously owned by the rich & famous, & of course the opportunity to purchase more BAGS in the shop downstairs.

On both our visits to this unique museum, the second in the past 13 months being yesterday, we were struck by how few men actually visit this well-worthwhile museum. The staff lamented to us that many men just sit in the lobby with arms folded and pained expressions on their faces while their female partners visit the exhibits. I URGE MEN TO VISIT THIS MUSEUM! There is nothing particularly female about this place. It's full of history and the kinds of facts you never knew. The exhibits will keep you smiling throughout your visit. Admission is free with the Museum Card. The old canal houses that make up the museum's exhibition space are worth visiting even if there were no exhibits!

I never realised just how much history bags and purses have! This museum contains an incredibly large collection of them all and I would recommend it to anyone who was looking to see something a little different in Amsterdam!

This museum is not big but well worth a look espeically for those of you who love purses and bags. The history of the bag and purses is fascinating and the different things they have on display is very unique. Also you will want to stop by the store at entrance because there is some unique bags you can buy. Men, if you want the female(s) in your life happy let them come see this place.

There really isn't anymore that I can add, that hasn't already been said about this museum.
A wonderful collect of bags, purses, travel goods & accessories all displayed so well.
This museum is in a beautifully restored building, do yourself a favour & time your visit to have lunch or morning tea in the lovely cafe, it exudes old world charm. Don't forget to look up to admire the ceiling.
The cottage garden at the back of the building is also worth a visit.
