“Unusual and Fun”
Reviewed July 8, 2013

This small museum features both historical examples of purses and bags of various kinds and also examples of avant-garde contemporary design. Some of the early twentieth-century bags are especially whimsical and interesting. It doesn't take long to see the entire collection and is worth the visit for those interested in design.

“Great little find”
Reviewed July 6, 2013

We just happended by the museum and walked in on a whim. What a delight! We loved the history of bags and purses and seeing all of the examples. We also saw a few of our old backbacks and lunch boxes on display in the mid 20th century section. Great little, hidden, lunch spot as well. Also, we all purchased a new handbag in the fantastic gift shop.

“Definitely something different”
Reviewed July 3, 2013

This museum won't appeal to everyone, but some people will love it. Follows the history of bags and purses through the ages. Plenty of modern, fashion examples. Interesting facts to learn. How bags developed because of changing needs. Some side branches into luggage and items to put in to a purse. When there, there was a temporary exhibit of Dutch school "bags" which started as painted wooden boxes. That was something new to learn.
