We drove to Holland for a short break during half term. When booking, we found the Best Western Blue Tower had the most affordable family accommodation (quadruple).

The hotel public areas are modest. There is an adjacent parking (12 Euro per day). Hotel management explicitly recommended avoiding leaving anything inside the car in direct sight as break in are quite frequent.

The quadruple room was spacious, but not exactly clean. An extremely recent large stain of some sticky soft drink showed no effort of removing it had been made; the bathroom required an additional cleaning.

Beds are comfy; the TV and the safe were not working. Like wisdom usually reminds, low prices may hide surprises.

The restaurant inside the hotel is particularly enjoyable, despite its menu is limited to few choices. Food is fresh, of good quality, and cooked to order.

There is a bus stop 200 meters from the hotel. Bus number 21 takes you to Central Station in 15/18 minutes.

The area is a bit obscure, although handy in a quiet spot off the motorway it is in a housing estate of flats and next to a few basic shops down a back street,a bit odd for an 11 storey premium hotel.
The parking is an adjacent multi storey which is again a bit strange for a large hotel.
There is good public transport to Dam Square and Centraal station etc. 2.60 but a taxi is a good 20.00 back, too far for the average legs to walk. We had a 10th floor room with three beds very spacious, good bathroom, air con and flat screen TV, panormaic views (of flats, concrete and a motorway bridge) but at this height some spectacular far reaching views even of the old town with good eye sight.
Good choice at breakfast and the evening bar service was friendly especially with my "lively" kids.
Most important is that it is quiet at noght, there is parking of sorts and as Amsterdam city is very dear this is a cost effective solution. More for function than style.

Room Tip: High up in the tower

Do NOT trust this hotel if you have a car with you. They will recommend you park in the Q PARK next to the hotel because it's cheap. Yesterday the car was broken into and half out luggage was taken. This carpark is security monitored with a conceirge at the front but after spending 6 hours in a police station nearby it turn out these break ins are DAILY the hotel don't TELL YOU THIS the carpark don't MONITOR the SECURITY CAMERAS and the police can't figure it out. So I URGE YOU do not trust this hotel and their RECCOMENDATIONS.

Hotel is quiet far from Dam Square but accesible through numbers of tram and bus. The receptionist was friendly and gave us directions on where to go. The room was lovely and clean, cleaner comes everyday and the bathroom is spacious and big. Really loved the buffet breakfast! :)

Having visited several hotels in the Amsterdam centre region, this one was up to the comparison. Near the A10 west, near station Slterdijk it's good to reach. With tram 14 you have a direct connection to the inner city. Westerpark is not far away.

As for the hotel itself. The deskservice was freindly, the entrance nice. The room was a bit better compared to the other hotels i 've been. enough free channels on the tv, good bathroom, silent airco. good enough bed. I was satiffied.
