Check-in was supposed to be 2 pm but we were able to do it when we arrived before 10 AM since there was already a room available which was just favorable to us since we were scheduled to go on a day trip to Belgium and we will be back in the evening. Hence, we didn't have to worry about our luggage being left at the concierge.
Also, the front desk people were very friendly & very accommodating & they were the ones who told us that we could check-in already. Over-all it's a good hotel...and near to the tram & bus stops...

We arrived early to check in (10.45am) but were allowed to which was great. Room was fine, spacious and clean. No noise heard from other guests. Bus into Amsterdam is easy, stops just a minute or two from hotel, takes about 15 mins into centre. Underground carpark next to hotel charges about 12 euros for 24 hours, not sure how this compares to other places. Breakfast was excellent!

Basically it is a good hotel. Near to a supermarket called Albert Hijn. Very convenient in case you need milk or other groceries. 1 min walk (or less) to the nearest tram and bus station. Takes about 15min to the city centre. A lot of restaurants, bakeries and shops at the hotel area. The hotel building is sort of hidden behind Asian Plaza. No clear signage. The rooms are big. Clean except that the sheets has a weird smell. Bed are comfortable enough. But no mini-bar which is weird for a 4 star hotel. Have free WiFi in room which is good. The staff are not too friendly but they are ok. Rooms are cleaned daily. Bathroom are spacious. I get the room with the surrounding area view so its quite pleasant. Some of the hotel I know has the view of other building!! There is a wet market behind the hotel that is open everyday. Overall a good hotel.

We always stay in this hotel when we go to Amsterdam. Simply because the staff is very helpfull, the hotel is quite nice (not a 5 star, but above average) and , although it's not in the Dam Square or other more central area, it's very close to the tram stations that go anywhere in Amsterdam. A trip in tram to Dam Sq. is about 10 minutes away (because of the stops, of course). For the price we usually pay getting the "hot deals" from Best western's website, it's really worth.
Just keep in mind that it's not in the most beautiful dutch style neighbourhood (it's actually in a muslim neighbourhoo-you'll see lots of women in abaayas and hijab), but it has quite nice coffee shops around for your morning breakfast with the addictive apple pie or strudel, before hitting the tram to downtown.

Room Tip: just choose a room in a higher floor, because there's a highway beside the hotel that might be n...

Very nice hotel, wonderful staff and the place is really clean! €15 in a cab home from central Amsterdam! Visit the grasshopper bar! It is a must. Tram links and bus links also good! Both go from outside the hotel and stop at central station

We stayed at the Best Western Blue Tower Hotel in Amsterdam on August 17th. First appearance was scary. The location is not the greatest . Lots of clutter on the street and garbage. I thought this is not going to be good (after a 9 hour flight).

Once inside the lobby not so bad. Our room was not available, but they put our luggage in storage and we were able to go out and enjoy the city for the day. Staff at front desk were helpful with directions. It is a long way from the city centre (e.g.Dam Square). We took the tram.

We returned around 4:00 p.m. and our room was available. It was just okay and if we were staying longer than one evening we would have raised a concern. The furniture was well used and not the cleanest, but liveable. Our view out the window was the alley to the maket square and the train tracks.

No complaints regarding the staff or lobby, but they certainly need to clean up their act when it comes to the rooms. Would we stay there again? No. First, the location (not a good area of the city --- scary) and second the hotel is tired and needs some tender love and care.
