Great.
Four of us stayed for a weekend. We loved the apartment, area and the welcome we received.
Lovely spacious apartment with balcony, in a nice part of town.
20 mins by public transport to the main city centre, however are plenty of things to see in the area it self, including the Vondelpark, Olympic Stadium etc
People Very Friendly.
Landlord was very friendly and welcoming.
The only bad thing was that the holiday had to come to an end.

All in all we will definitely stay here again.

Thank you very much for making us feel so welcome.

I traveled to Amsterdam with 3 of my friends and we thought Wooden Mill Bed and Breakfast was just perfect! It was pretty close to the center of the city (less than 10min tram ride). The room was spacious and the beds were comfortable. Everything was super clean. We had our own bathroom and kitchen. Breakfast was not included, but you can easily buy a few things for the kitchen (besides some of the food stocked there) and cook it yourself because the kitchen had plenty of utensils, pots, pans, microwave, stove, tables, etc. Wooden Mill had free fast wifi and a tv. Also, Joop was extremely nice and welcoming. He even offered to drive us to a traditional Dutch rest. and the airport! He gave us plenty of maps and directions to places as well. It may seem a little pricy, but surprisingly Wooden Mill was one of the cheapest places we found in Amsterdam. All of the other places we researched were more expensive and not as accomodating as Wooden Mill/a lot of the other places were decent hostels. I was very pleased with Wooden Mill and I definitely recommend it.

The larger front room had everything we needed, the bed was comfortable enough, but the website's photos were taken a very long time ago! Furnishings very faded, carpets dirty, a window that wouldn't open, cupboard was just OLD, never going to be classed as an 'antique'!
No breakfast included, poorly equipped kitchen that would make cooking very tricky, made the Wooden Mill unreasonably expensive.

We stayed for a few nights in August and had a wonderful time, it can sometimes be hard to find hotel rooms for three people and alot of the cheaper hotels in amsterdam dont seem to have ensuite bathrooms so this was a great find. It was really spacious with a big kitchen that had all the amenities you could want, although we only used it for breakfast as there were so mnay nice places to eat out. the bathroom was also large, and there was even a washing machine.
the double bed was huge and all the beds were comfy and there was lots of space, we especially like the balcony which gave on to views of the very attractive street. there were plenty of resaurants nearby and a bakery and supermarket for breakfast, the walk into town was pleasant but quite far, there were plenty of trams for those who didnt want to walk. Joop who owns the apartments was extremeley helpful and informative about amsterdam, and even offered to drive us to a restaurant he had recommended.
the onyl drawback is that there is a very steep staircase that might be a problem for people with mobility issues but would be fine for most, and i think there may be a downstairs aprtment anyway. I would definately recommend if you want somewhere peaceful and good value for money in a lovely area.

The Wooden Mill Bed and Breakfast is located in the Old South area of Amsterdam, on a pleasant tree-lined street replete with typical Amsterdam Brick Townhomes from the thirties. Near to Vondel Park and conveniently served by the tram, the Wooden Mill is close to a number of cafes/restaurants while still situated withiin a middle-class residential neighborhood of the city. The room is simple, complemented by wooden period furniture and facing the backyard which, while providing a space to sit and relax outside, could use some sprucing up. The bath and kitchen were functional and good enough for a few days use. Joop the owner is helpful and has numerous tips available. Overall I would recommend this B&B for a few days in Amsterdam, especially considering the character and location of the charming neighborhood.
