I will start with saying if you travel into Amsterdam and want to get to the QBIC, think about the time you arrive in terms of the kind of tickets you buy. If you are a first-timer then just get yourself a single ticket to Amsterdam Zuid (3 Euros). Once at Amsterdam Zuid, exit near the Burger King exit and not Vicky's pasta place. Starbucks is on the left but you take the immediate right. Bike stands on right, Fitch Huis in glass on left. QBIC is 100 yards down and you see a red sign. Once you are there it is lovely. My room was a single (travelled alone) and was fine. It had no toilet door but on your own it is fine but if there are two of you, well, you know!? QBIC in itself has a nice reception area, where it also serves breakfast (which could be better and do with having one or two hot options in my opinion - some warming frankfurters for example). The rooms are like the Myhotel accommodation for those who know them, so they are bright, breezy and minimalistic. Will suit some but not others. Near the QBIC is a Starbucks as mentioned above, a Wagamamas, Burger King, Vicky's place (an establishment made pasta option which is very clever) and one or two other places to eat and drink, including some within the WTC, which is actually where the QBIC is sited. If you want to get to the centre of Amsterdam then you need to take the tram. To do so you would be best served to get what is called a daily pass, which you can get from the Tourist Information Centre at Schipol Airport or an establishment. A day pass for trams and buses but NOT the trains. They are worth getting but don't get one if you arrive late or are leaving early as it is a waste of money. The tram you need is number 5 and you can get that from taking a right outisde of the WTC, go up the stairs and then the one that says Centraal which is closest to you but just look at the sign on the front. They are frequent. As I have said the QBIC is nicely positioned and easy to get to from Schipol but not so easy from the centre of Amsterdam if you like to venture out very late at night (post midnight I guess), where you would need to get a taxi which might cost any amount. Overall I would definitely recommend the QBIC. It has a lovely feel, welcoming staff, a nice reception area and is easy to get to. I would and do intend to go back. If you have not gone to Amsterdam then you should do so if for nothing else than to touch on a different culture. You will need infinitely to visit a few times though so book early.

Room Tip: I can't say for sure but my room was fine. It depends on the kind of accommodation you need or if you are travelling with someone you know or not. I was on the first floor and had to make sure the blinds and curtains were closed but beyond that I found it very quiet. The one thing maybe of concern was that the room was a little bit warm.

The front side of my room ventilation incredibly dirty. Detailed cleaning is very bad. Design and very small room not to find it clean. Real disappointed. I could not sleep due to the noise of opening and closing the entrance to the corridor. Be close to the exhibition center, the only good side. I reached through the park a short walk.

Room Tip: selection should make the upper floors

The bedrooms are very much as pictured, although we were unable to change the color of our lights around the bed- although this didn't matter to us. The rooms are spacious and clean and the bed is just to die for (I looked up the brand of bed when we got home, but they were very much out of our price range!) :)

A big shocker was that there is no bathroom door! It is open plan as in the photos- it was fine for me and my partner who have lived together for years, but maybe not suitable for a new couple depending on how comfortable you are with this!

It's in a great location, about half way between the City Centre and Schipol Airport. It's on the central tram line (number 5) which takes you directly in to the City (about 15 mins, stopping at various landmarks and attractions en route) and right by Station Zuid (trains) and a Sprinter Train can have you at the airport in a matter of minutes.

It's a self-serve hotel, we didn't have the breakfast as we went in to the City to eat- but the vending machines had plenty of snacks.

They do not provide shampoo or conditioner, so be sure to pack your own! They do have hairdryers you can borrow for your stay, but you have to ask for this at Reception.

Overall it was a good hotel, well priced and in a good location for a city break or if you're travelling on business!

Nice hotel in Zuid with easy access to public transport. You can easily get to the city centre as well as to the airport. It's also a good value for money.

This hotel is a fab find if you are looking for a budget hotel in Amsterdam. Only 7mins train journey away from the airport and then a 2min walk was a great start to the trip.
Although on the website it says you have to do a self check-in, there are staff available to help and a member of staff did check us in and hand us our key.
The hotel room has got a really cool design. You are in pods that light up in different colours and the wallpaper is pretty cool too. The bathroom is behind the bedroom with no door! so not the best place to stay if you aren't comfortable with the person you are sharing a room with!
Fresh sheets, towels, nice shower and overall a clean bathroom and bedroom.
Only annoying part was how cold our room was and we couldn't seem to warm it up. The friends i was travelling with however were complaining that their room was too hot!! We didn't complain to staff though as we were only there for a short trip.
We stayed two nights at this hotel and although it was fine - i don't think i could have stayed longer because the lighting does start to get a little annoying (especially when doing your make up!)
The hotel was too far away from the city centre too. Approx 20-30min tram journey away (which we were doing in the day and again at night). We grin and beared it but in an ideal world would like to be closer.
Overall good stay and would stay again if it were closer to amsterdam city centre. :-)
