“WONDERFUL HOTEL LOCATION, GOOD VALUE”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2014

We stayed 5 nights here while we were in Amsterdam, given its terrific location near the major museums and restaurants. It is NOT a luxury hotel and it looks a bit seedy. But the location is impossible to beat, the price is fair, and the breakfast is delicious and plentiful. They are very helpful, but you need to ask for air conditioning if you want it, and not all the rooms have it. We were there when it was extremely hot and humid in August, so that saved our lives. Good value but not luxury.

Room Tip: if you want an air conditioned room, you need to ask for it when you reserve on the Best Western sit...

The single room, on the ground floor is very small: you don't have room for your luggage, you don't have a door for the toilet (but it's open), you don't have any climatization but otherwise internet is very fast. Bed too soft.
The zone around is stunning. It's a pity that singles are treated so bad: we even pay more for person than couples...

We stayed here for a night while we were visiting Amsterdam. The hotel has a great location, right next to the Leidseplein and the Vondelpark. But at night the place was very quiet. Our room was spacious and priced ok, considering its location. The hotel itself has seen better days. It needs a but of updating. In our room, especially the bathroom has had its prime years behind it. The shower was pointed at the wall, and the walls itself were covered in mold. We didn't take breakfast as the near vicinity has many great locations for having breakfast.

The hotel has a great location for anyone keen to experience Vondel park as well as old Amsterdam which is a short walk away or rent a bike round the corner. A delicious pancake house is also close by.

The hotel can be musty but I think we arrived just after a shampooing. Nice and spacious (when compared with other hotels in the area) and friendly staff.
Breakfast was great with eggs, bacon, cereals, fruit, yoghurt and toast/pastries on offer.

Room Tip: As high as possible

Nothing fancy about this place. It's clean, the people at the front desk were nice, and it was in a pretty good location. The price was what you'd expect, but there are no extra frills here. The bed was pretty comfy at least.

Close to many bars, clubs and restaurants. Close to several tram lines and Vondelpark The room and bathroom was always very neat and clean. The staff were great. There is an elevator and the streets are quiet at night, which you don't always find in Amsterdam.

Room Tip: You can choose an air conditioned room or not. The choice is yours. We managed fine without the airc...

It is what it is. The hotel is of good value considering how close it is to Leidse Square. We had a basement room and it actually isn't that bad. It had windows and the air con worked well in the basement. The room was quite cool. Beds are pretty comfy but we had single beds which I hadn't seen before. Shower was crap as it didn't drain or get very hot and the shower head kept turning to the left. Close to a good bike rental shop too. Overall I would go back.
