“Soooooooooooo cold, but fun!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 13, 2013

We had a brilliant tour with Karl "with a K" this weekend, he kept us entertained and informed at the same time. Bikes were easy to ride and in good order, the brief before we left was thorough and amusing.

The outing it's self is slightly daunting at first but you quickly get used to the traffic and how things work. A cold snap during our visit in mid march meant -1*c plus windchill, dress warm with hat gloves etc or SUFFER.

Karls personality meant our group of 8 quickly bonded and we all chatted during various stops. One of my favorite stops was the windmill/brewery, some extremely tasty beer in there!!!

Karl being himself (biggest hippy in the world) meant many references to pot smoking and other drug use, but this is Amsterdam and he's such a hippy that I expected nothing less but if you're easily offended or frown upon drug use, prostitutes etc it's not for you.

That said, it wouldn't be ideal for children unless the tour is varied / toned down to accommodate children.

Overall well worth 20 Euros (17 for my partner as she's a student) and it was the best part of our trip.

“One of the highlights of our stay in Amsterdam”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 26, 2013

Superbly quirky, informative and entertaining cycle tour of Amsterdam.

Very friendly welcome. Good, modern and well-maintained bikes which our guide "Karl with a K" ensured fitted each of us properly, and after a short but reassuring briefing on how to stay safe in the city traffic and what to do in the event of a breakdown or getting lost, we were off. Saw places we wouldn't have seen and things I doubt we would have heard on some more mainstream city tours, with two timely and welcome refreshment stops.

Despite the freezing February weather, nine turned up for the tour and under Karl's idiosyncratic and funny leadership the group quickly 'gelled' and there was a lot of chatting and joking which helped to make this one of the highlights of our four days in the city - it was certainly the best-value twenty Euros we spent while we were there. If you are offended by the sprinkling of info on prostitutes and marijuana cafes then it might not be your thing (and you probably shouldn't have come to Amsterdam in the first place!), but can only say that we were still talking about our Mike's Bike Tour on the flight home to Stansted. Read the Tripadvisor reviews and just go.

“Excellent way to see Amsterdam”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 18, 2013

Really good tour, great way to see Amsterdam. Karl was very entertaining. Bikes, trams, cars and people were a bit difficult to negotiate at first but soon got the hang of it.
Take the tour you wont regret it.

“Enjoyable experience!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 6, 2013 via mobile

I thoroughly enjoyed my bike tour. Although it was a bit cold and I find the Amsterdam bike system a little intimidating the friendliness of my guide and the nature of the trip made it worth it. Would definitely recommend for people looking to see some of the city by bike and get some local insights too!
