quit new but special hotel. typical citytrip hotel with more focus on straight design. if it wasn't for the location and building it would be somehow of 13 in a dozen, but both location (take the ferry - it's a treat!) and the old industrial building and location give it a special touch which I particularly liked. Room is modern and perfect and the view is superb, only if you're on the 8th floor some architect thought it was a good idea to 'blind' the view with metal framework. bad idea! last tip, don't take breakfast on the terrace' outside when they're cleaning the windows, or at least not underneath the cleaners box.

Room Tip: 7th floor I guess for the view, not the 8th!!

We had a really nice 4 night stay while visiting Amsterdam. The hotel was spotlessly clean, the rooms are a little small but the full floor to ceiling window made it feel much bigger, great overhead shower and plenty of toiletries were provided.

We had a terrible reçeptiion in a hotel that charged us €225. We came to leave the bags in a storage room and went to tour the city, because the rooms were not ready.
When we returnd in the evening, started our nightmare.
First, the check-in was very slow: it took 1 and a half hours to reach our roms.
Second, they could not charge my credit card. The lady insisted my card had been revoked. Of course I called my bank in the US who confirmed that norhing was wrong with my card: it was rhe hotel who had not done the charge well. So we had to scramble to put together €350 cash, because they also insisted on a a €100 deposit, just in case we were "coffehouse" participants.
Finally, my bags were lost. No one knew where they were. Finally, after a room by room search, the bags appeared. 90 minutes after we started chekin.

At checkout, the person was apologetic and offered a cofee with croissant as compensation. Not serious.

In addition, this hotel is located in an area of industrial warehouses, far from the center, in unsafe surroundings and just ugly.

Stayed here in early May. You can tell the hotel has recently open. New procedures to the staff etc. Excellent communication from Tessa in reservations. Convenient location and i'm sure will be a great hotel in the future!

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at the Brooklyn Hotel. It offered just about everything you could ask for in a hotel. Great service with friendly staff, awesome room, and I actually liked the location as well (although some surrounding buildings could use some cleaning up). Would definitely stay here again. Just may be our go-to hotel here in Amsterdam.

Room Tip: Try and get a room facing the water and central station.

Great prices at this hotel but as you have to take a (free) ferry to Central Station you have to decide if you really want to stay so far out of town. I was out in Leidesplein then got a taxi back to the hotel at night as I didn't fancy the long walk back to the central station, then the ferry journey back.... Taxi cost €22 .... Just beware!
The hotel is nice and the rooms are lovely. Breakfast is a small corner with a choice of sweet muffins, croissants, coffee etc in the lobby...Pay for what you take... The hotel desperately needs a restaurant as there is nowhere to grab something to eat or drink.
OK for a nice room friendly staff but hotel lacks a bar and a restaurant and you are in the windiest most open part of Amsterdam!
Don't think I would stay here again

I stayed at the Brooklyn with my Partner on our first visit to Amsterdam and found the hotel a great base for sightseeing. There is a regular free ferry service between the wharf area where the Brooklyn is located which brings you directly to the back of Centraal station, from there you're right in the middle of central Amsterdam.

Check in is a breeze and the reception staff were extremely helpful, offering city maps, bike hire and timetables for the ferry. The room wasn't the largest but for short city breaks its more than adequate. The room included a large wet room (the shower was amazing), Flat screen wall mounted TV (which shows local and UK channels) large comfortable bath robes, slippers, hairdryer, mini fridge, complimentary chilled mineral water & coffee/tea making facilities. Also the room has included wired and wifi internet access free of charge. The bed is large enough for two to sleep soundly, large pillows, soft linens and a comfortable mattress, we both enjoyed a very good nights sleep.

The only downside is that the hotel does not provide room service nor have a restaurant, although they do state that there are 'nibbles' for purchase. I would definitely stay here again and recommend the Brooklyn Hotel to anyone visiting Amsterdam.
