Our friend gave us the address of this place, which is close to many theaters. All tables were booked for later that evening but we were early and the waitress told us that if we could leave before 7.30 she could give us a table. So we were really lucky because this is a great place for inexpensive and nice food. They gave us bread and olive spread for free while we waited for our dinner. We had a vegetarian curry with a papadam and slowly cooked meat (flat iron steak, called sukade in Dutch) with polenta and vegetables. The meat was perfectly cooked and I really loved it. We didn't taste their cheesecake because we were too full. Staff is very friendly and the moment we are back in Amsterdam we go back to this very nice cafe.
